Christian Obodo, has ended his seven-year stint with Serie A club Udinese, after his contract was terminated by mutual consent.
The club have consequently filed all necessary applications to the Italian League authorities, and have released a statement to the effect on their website.
"Udinese Calcio have registered at the Lega Serie A headquarters the documents for the consensual cancellation of the contract in effect with the Nigerian footballer Christian Obodo," the statement read.
The player has been disturbed by injuries in recent years, which saw him lose his place in the Nigerian national team.
The injuries also saw Obodo drop down the pecking order at Udinese, prompting him to be loaned out to Bari and Lecce on different occasions.
Obodo is now a free agent, and can sign for any club notwithstanding the closure of the transfer window.
