Bomb Explosion at Festac Link Bridge - One Dead

The police have confirmed the death of one person in an explosion that occurred under the Festac link bridge, linking Festac Town to Amuwo Odofin Housing Estate.

According to eye witness, the man was passing by when the bomb exploded. He died on the spot. But it could not be ascertained whether he was actually the target of those who planted the bomb or not.

The dead is Oladele Pius, a local sand dealer, while a policeman who came to investigate the incidence was hurt.

The police bomb squad are already at the scene of the explosion, although it is not clear what the cause of the explosion is.
