Gareth Bale has become just the third player to do the double at the PFA Player of the Year awards.
Bale, 23, beat off stiff competition from Luis Suarez, Robin van Persie, Michael Carrick, Juan Mata and Eden Hazard to claim the accolade, voted for by his fellow professionals.
And Bale was also named Young Player of the Year at Sunday’s ceremony to join Ronaldo six years ago and Andy Gray, in 1976-77, in landing both prizes in the same year.
