Fire outbreak At Murtala Muhammed International Airport

Information reaching us indicate that there was a fire outbreak at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, this morning.

An eyewitness said the fire emanated from some cables, which apparently melted under heat.
This led to a blackout in the airport terminal while fire fighters deployed swiftly in the affected area to quench the inferno.

The fire fighters were able to put the situation under control while securitymen erected a metal barricade around the site.

In a separate incident, a cargo plane blew off the roof of a parking lot at the airport on Wednesday night, causing damage to some cars.
