Elissa Performed in Libya
It's the 40th Anniversary of the Moammar Qaddafi so called revolution in 1969 where he overthrew the old but beloved king of the land. So Qaddafi books the A list singers to headline a concert to honor that revolution. Arab singers do not take a stand, they are as oppressed as the people are, they only care about money or so it seems.
Katehm Al Saher was there and so was Hussein Al Jasmy, but Elissa, the Lebanese singer known for her romance and love songs took part of the event. While the revolution was never about love and Qaddafi was never about hugs, now we do not really know why would these A list singers go all the way to Libya to entertain the land that for long has seen the worse of Qaddafi.
While Elissa never sang for a dictator like many male stars have done--she has performed a wedding song for a Saudi Princess' daughter's wedding. She does private gigs too--mostly in the Gulf. I bet Elissa and other Arab stars hate the internet and those clips of them performing and praising dictators.
