Stephen Keshi is considering Sivasspor’s Michael Eneramo and Joseph Akpala who plays for Werder Bremen, to take the place of injured Emmanuel Emenike, as the Super Eagles prepare for a hectic summer fixture list.
The coach of the Nigeria national team, returned to Abuja on Monday morning and was at the Nigeria Football Federation’s secretariat, to discuss plans for the 2014 World Cup qualifying matches against Kenya and Namibia and the Confederations Cup in Brazil next month.
“I am back in the country to get ready for the World Cup qualifiers and FIFA Confederations Cup,” he said.
“It is a shame that Emmanuel Emenike won’t be available because I would have preferred the continuity to go on. But this is what we get from football. So the next thing is for somebody else to take his place.
“My first choice of player to replace Emenike was Victor Anichebe. But I gathered Anichebe said he is not ready to play for Nigeria for now.
“Now I am considering picking between Joseph Akpala and Mike Eneramo. [In few days to come] I will decide on who among these players would come with us to our Germany Camp.”
Eneramo and Akpala, have not featured for the Super Eagles since 2010.
