A deadly explosion at a Texas fertilizer plant early Thursday Morning, April 18th has left at least 15 people dead, including five volunteer firefighters and one police officer. The blast, which measured 2.1 on the Richter scale according to Reuters, left the town of West, 20 miles north of Waco, 'like a a warzone'. Over 180 people were injured in the blast, while dozens of homes and buildings were destroyed.
Public safety officials say they expect the death toll to rise and that rescue efforts have been hampered because of hazardous chemicals in the air following the explosion. Just feels like the US has been under attack these past few days.
Rapper Snoop Dogg has been charged with a drugs offence after a sniffer dog found marijuana on his tour bus.
The 40-year-old, also a top record producer, was arrested at the USborder with Mexico.
A US customs chief said officers found a bottle containing rolled joints and more cannabis hidden in two containers. Spokesman Bill Brooks confirmed: "They turned him over to the local sheriff."
Police said the star "freely admitted" the cannabis belonged to him.
Snoop, real name Calvin Broadus, will appear in court next Friday charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
He has previous convictions for possessing drugs from cannabis to cocaine as well as gun offences.
In 2010 country singer Willie Nelson, 78, was caught with cannabis at the same spot in Sierra Blanca, Texas.
