Amar Oh La La Sequal Music Video

Amar needs some help. Whoever is advising her career might have a secret agenda to derail her career. Amar is now making her second music video in 5 weeks, and they are calling it a sequel. It picks up from where the previous music video has ended

A very noble idea indeed, but a very fake looking music video. This is a fashion show song with little fashion in it. Somewhere in Europe this was filmed and from the look of it, this might have been a blue screen job.

When Amar launched her career, she has better songs, the songs that kind of showed a good voice. Sorry to break it to you guys, this Amar song is terrible. She is not singing, she is not entertaining. Her voice is horrible and those short notes don't help. She is better than this, she has shown us that in the past. I am just not seeing it here.

Late Hassan Al Asmar Golden Hits 2011

Hassan Al Asmar did well for himself and many of those folklore singers in Egypt call him the godfather of their craft. While his songs are among the most popular hits, they are also the most lampooned. But that does not slow down the sales.

Hassan passed away in the holy Month of Ramadan, and the last recorded work of his is a collection of prayer. So more than a star he now will be remembered as the guy whose last words were asking God for forgiveness.

Now comes a collection of his best songs in one album, a very good idea to remember this man. The album is put froward by Free Music music label--that of Nasr Mahrous.

Rumor Has It:Sherinie Doesn't Sing With Saudis

Rumor has it Egyptian singer Sherine refuses to sing with Saudi singers. those allegations where made by Saudi participant in the new show Duo "Al Mashaheer". Sherine denied those accusations and called them baseless. Sherine added that she sang with three singers from the Gulf on that show, and she refereed to the director.

This appearance was filmed September 17, and the rumor has it. Saudi Maysson maintains her position and insists Sherine refused to sing with her becasue she is Saudi. i think Mayson is the loser her. why would a big Arab star do that? Sherine knows the Saudi market is so big and her production company is Saudi.

I think this is non issue of some nobody trying to make a name for themselves when they have been cut out. It's a shame!

Mahmoud Abbas Palestine UN State Song

Most those who sing for Palestine locally are not professional singers, they lack the voice training. But that never stop them from releasing songs to commemorate special occasions. This week the Palestinian seeks to get recognition from the UN body.

Check out this song for this special occasion.

Lupe Fiasco Takes A Bullet For Palestine

Chicago rapper Lupe Fiasco doesn't play it safe, he speaks up his mind. For rappers that means talking about their "Hood", "Benjamins" and "Bi*ches". Lupe wants none to do with that, his thing is Palestine.

Lupe is a very well informed rapper who knows a thing or two about world affairs. While he knows his managers might not appreciate his tough line on Israel, the fans seem to love his stands on Justice and Palestine.

I have written before about Lupe's activism on Palestine before, but this time, a brother of my freind was attending his concert with a Palestinian flag. The rapper saw that and asked Sami to come up on the stage with to wave the flag.

Toward the end of the song Lupe took up the flag, and its only right for him to do so as the Palestinians go to the UN asking for a state. Lupe seems to be well versed on the topic and he is talking about the issue. Lupe is the man. I salute him for giving a voice for those who have none.

Fares Karam Bizarre and Awesome 2011 Song

Saad Marouk is a creative fella, with that comes the weird and the bizarre, the man who by his own words is a dictator in his work. So when he approach him, you have to submit to his vision. So when Fares Karam got a new song he was excited about, Saad was out there and then those two guys came together.

On the upside, the music video is awesome as it's new concepts and has never been done before. There is so much surrealism in it, something that ought to be celebrated. There's some way cool spacial affects, some of Hollywood's finest tricks are not out of the director's reach. The submerged scenes are a first time thing. And so was the firs tracks and affects. Clearly, he had a bold vision vision.

On the downside, this is not the right song to execute that vision. First Fares Karam looks very healthy and he seems to be working out a lot at the gym which is great for the song. Second, the models are weird, and they look too thin to be some guys' hot woman. Third, the song is about a passionate lover who would do anything to get his gal. Yet, she is abusing and torturing him. Again, the cinematography is dazzling, but for an Arab music video it might be too new of a thing--thus making it weird for many.

Fares has been talking up this music video and saying this is a new side of him, sure he was right. It showed this man who has been a womanizer throughout his songs as a guy who can take it for love. However, the lyrics of the song might have too much "Lebanon talk" in them. He is talking about killing dudes and giving him their heads to proof his love but yet we are not in the 15 hundreds, it's 2011.

Arabic Movie Made For Non-Arabs

Call is orientalism, call is stereotype, but it seems to me, every movie Egyptian cinema makes is either geared toward the idiots in that country or the ones who hate it. Very few movies fall in the middle area. So you can either sing and dance in the streets, or have insane sex and cock fights.

This is the gist I am getting from this new Independent Egyptian movie with a large cast of seasoned Egyptian actors-there's the Lebanese Cyrine Nour. The leading men have all appeared on starred in American movies. Omar Sherif, Khalid Al Nabawy, Amr Waked have all done their fair share of local movies too.

This movie seems about an old man going back to the old country in search of his son whom he had with another women at their young age.
