It was indeed a bloody Friday in Osin River, a suburb of Ilorin, the Kwara State capital following the tragic end of sixteen persons in a road mishap.
The tragic incident, Dailypost learnt involved a trailer loaded with bags of beans coming from the Norther part of the country and an 18-seater commuter bus.
According to eyewitness, the commuter bus was conveying passengers returning to Gbadamu-Ologi village, Ilorin East Local Government from Oke-Oyi market, where they had gone to purchase items for the Sallah celebration.
The source said that tragedy struck when the driver of the trailer loaded with bags of beans lost control while descending a slope at a high velocity and crushed the commuter bus, which was trying to overtake a ehicle at a rough portion of the road, killing sixteen occupants of the bus.
It was gathered that a 10-year-old boy survived the bloody accident.
Efforts to reach the Kwara State sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Mr. O Ademoluti were fruitless at the time of filing this report.
