The Commissioner for Information in Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Aniekan Umanah has promised to partner the rave-making E101magazine in order to showcase the state and its entertainment endowments to the world. Mr. Umanah stated this while receiving the magazine’s crew today at his office.
The magazine, since making its debut last year has garnered rave reviews and has sold the Akwa Ibom brand to the international community. The magazine is also gearing up for its full media and entertainment awards which is coming up later this year.
Governor Godswill Akpabio today received Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Best Governor Award. He was given the award because AkwaIbomStateemerged the BestState in infrastructural development, best in human empowerment, etc.
It could be recalled that on 25thDecember, 2011 Akpabio was crowned the Entertainment Industry Man of the Year by E101magazine, SilverBird TV Man of the Year on 1st January, 2012 and recently, THE SUN NEWSPAPER Man of the Year.
With these awards, I believe Akpabio has a room where he houses all the awards and I think the room must have been full with awards by now. Congratulations to the most decorated and award-winning governor in history.
Nsikak Umoh a.k.a Bonic who made it to the top 30 at the on-going Nigerian Idol arrived Uyo this evening from Lagos via Akwa Ibom International Airport and will be hosted tomorrow, Friday for a ‘welcome back’ party.
The event tagged “Celebrating Nsikak Umoh” will hold at popular celebrity hang out, 2ndBaze from 7pm.
There will be a red-carpet which will be graced by celebrities and other guests. Nsikak is expected to perform while also using the opportunity to thank his fans for the support they showed him while he was at the reality TV show.
The show is packaged by top celebrity magazine – E101. Meanwhile, the magazine’s spokesman, Asteroid Bassey has opined on why the event is necessary.
“Nsikak Umoh did not win the top prize nor did he make it to the top 10 of the show but he has carved a niche for himself by making it to the last 30. Nsikak is a star in the making. Research has shown that top stars that make it in the music industry are not products of reality TV shows, only few are. Even in yankee, top music icons are not graduates of American Idol nor other music reality TV shows. 2face Idibia, D’banj, MI and plenty others are not products of reality TV shows. The show was determined by votes. It is rather unfortunate that he didn’t have enough votes to propel him to the zenith of the show but he has got great talent. We know he has a great future ahead of him that is why E101magazine is putting up this event to celebrate him”, said Asteroid who is the Associate Editor of the magazine.
It could be recalled that Nsikak was the only Akwa Ibom star who made it to the top 30 of the show but failed to make it to top 10 neither was he called back for the wild-card show by the judges which could have given him another opportunity to make it to the last ten.

This is the latest edition of the much-touted entertainment magazine…It is Nollywood funny act, Ime ‘Bishop’ Umoh who graces the cover. Can you guess who he is pointing the finger at and what he is saying? I think he is pointing it at the photographer and saying ‘Iya mmi! Don’t put that light on my eye again o’. You can’t fail to get a copy of this mag.
