Chris Brown announces he's dumped his girlfriend for Rihanna

Chris Brown has publicly revealed he has dumped his girlfriend Karrueche Tran after being pictured with ex Rihanna for the third night in a row.

Chris admitted his close bond with Rihanna was the reason for the split, but stopped short of saying the exes had reconciled.

He said in a statement: 'I have decided to be single to focus on my career. I love Karrueche very much but I don't want to see her hurt over my friendship with Rihanna.'

He continued: 'I'd rather be single allowing us to both be happy in our lives.'
