Nigeria thrash Liberia 6-1 to qualify for AFCON 2013

The Super Eagles in the last few minutes completed the rout of Liberia's National Team, the Lone Stars 6-1 to qualify for next year's African Cup of Nations to be held in South Africa.

Efe Ambrose had set our team on their way as early as 58 seconds in with a header off an Ahmed Musa cross. Thirty minutes later, Musa made himself a nuisance to the Liberians again when he latched on to a cross goalmouth pass by Emmanuel Emenike to make it two-nil.

Chelsea new player, Victor Moses made it three on the resumption of the second half, as he converted Nosa Igiebor's cross to score his first goal for his country.

On 50 minutes, Moses's Chelsea team mate, Mikel Obi scored his first in four years for Nigeria from the spot to make it four.

Liberia's thoroughly miserable day got worse as skipper Gebro Duncan got a second booking and was sent off. At that point, there were 20 minutes left on the clock. However, they did manage to pull a goal back through Patrick Wleh, a few minutes after substitute Ike Uche had made it 5-0 for Nigeria. Victor Moses completed the rout with his second, and Nigeria's sixth a few minutes to full time.
