There are few Arab male singers who are good at serenading a woman and making her feel a like a million dollar by making other women feel jealous as we celebrate that given women. The Iraqi singer Kathem has done well in this style and so has his country man Majid Al Mohandis. There are other names who are lesser known but they do well in serenading a women they love.

Now, there's a new kid on the block who can make a women feel like a princess with a place he made out of his heart. I am speaking of the Moroccan winner of the the Voice--first season. Mourad Bouriki who is starting his career just this year. The guy has a classy voice like the ones they are good at in Damascus. He is the very old school, the real Arabic music prior to the invention of those modem music instruments and technologies. The song reads like a love poem from a very ancient (yet lovely) time. 

A great choice for this skillful artist who has the friendship and talent of a half a dozen artists combined in one. He shows a great deal of class and grace as he lets the song and its lyrics lead him--he does not get in the way.  By the way Morocco also one the X Factor with their unique talent Mohamed Al Rifiy.

Egyptian raising pop star Samer Abu Taleb has just been eliminated from The Voice, but he might be the only one on the show that I cared for. His confidence and skill make all the difference for me. I love his warm and versatile voice. He has a long range of styles and vocal strength that he has been blessed with. The two music video below will show you some of his finest songs.

He is also a young composer who have studied music. Singer and composer and poet, and music arranger. He came to the music business at first by representing Egypt in the of March art in the age of 8 years. A graduate of the Alkonsr Vetoar And moved him to Higher Institute of Music Aribh Traveled international festivals in Russia, Romania and China.

Prior to joining the show as a contestant, he has released an album, a full pop album with many surprising hits back in 2009. So I am hoping his time at The Voice was well spent and his career will see a revival soon. I was in love with this song of his in my engagement period. I see he has stepped up his game a bit and in a matter of two weeks, he has three new singles out.

Samer just released a new single to create the needed buzz for his upcoming album where he tries to relaunch his career after four years of virtual inactivity. The track show the sad boy trapped inside this mega super star waiting his turn.

What's With Arabs Singing French?

The Voice is making a killing in ratings and advertisers money. One of the mentors is Kathem Al Saher, the classy voice form Iraq who has managed to largely keep his public image. He wanted to test one of the voices on the show, a young Moroccan with the name Youssra. Kathem kindly requested from the presenter and the young songstress to give him a taste of doing a song in a foreign language.

Youssra did not shy away, she picked a French song "S'il Suffisait D'aimer" by the French Canadian Celine Dion and did she blow it out of water? It feels like she did. I am looking at Lebanese and peoples of the West side of the Arab world who have adopted the French tongue. I like educated people and learning a new language should be rewarded.

But let's not sit here and pretend that speaking a foreign language make you a classy person. Class is something you learn form your family--namely your mother.

Cheesing Things Up With Saber El Rebai

I do not personally know Saber El Rebai, but I know that he loves a good cry or at least his songs lead you to believe. It's like he goes out in the world, finds the wrong people, falls in love with them. And then he comes to us telling his tale of how he was wronged  Maybe we can help him the first time, but the second times he comes it becomes harder and harder.

The only reason he shot to fame was become to his happy and dance friendly song Sidi Mansour of 2000, but then he started making romantic songs, they were great. But such songs do not have a great feel to them, you won't play them on your car or race to see them in a concert.

Saber visited the Tunisian song again and made a number of good hits, but he is looking for something more durable so he dabbling into composing songs and writing more hard hitting songs that will be among his legacy. Cool is good for ten years, and then you have to look for another job. Whatever it's Saber is still around, and he moonlights as a judge on the Voice.

Video: Silly People Talk About Silly Things #TheVoice

Assi Hallani was laughing when Sherine was walking on the stage and she fell to the ground. People did not appreciate Assi laughing when Sherine was falling on the live recording. But Assi would not let that one go, so while on The Voice, Sherine took a minute to defend Assi Hallani.

Sherine said, he was checking her out as she was walking on the stage and then she fell to the ground. Superstitious people do not like these things. So in one way he jinxed Sherine who was looking like a million dollar. The show host tries to interjects and say what seems to be like funny stuff on his mind.

While people are being murdered as the show films, Assi was trying to speak Egyptian in a pathetic attempt to look popular as he was talking about Sherine's good looks. This is really lame because at first, Assi said he and Saber El Robaei were laughing at something else when Sherine fell. Now he admits he was laughing about the fall, but in a nice way. I hope they all fall from grace.

Amjad Rahhal, The Voice's Star

A Syrian living in Dubai who can rock! Amjad Rahhal is appearing on the voice right now and as a Syrian and a singer, he has all the right equipment for classic Arabic songs. He is a family man and he sounds like a guy you would want to give him a shot, to sing not to have a fashion show.

Checkout the audio clip below for one of his fine songs,, the guy got soul. And the female "Fatin Sidawy" voice with him can carry her high notes and stand toe to toe with this talented wholesome entertainer. If you like the song, you will also be pleased to know Amjad has composed it as a master Oud player not only does he sing but he also comes up with some fascinating compositions.

Khalil Abou Obeid, the seasoned music coach known from Star Academy and most recently The Voice is making a big splash with the release of his most celebrated music project to date--Isar.

Not only does the artist put the focus on the music and its power to change hearts, he does so in style and grace unmatched on the stage. The dazzling Khalil brings out the piano out in the nature where he gets inspired to perform his latest piece. This versatile Lebanese music writer is letting us walk through his world and we are asking for an encore.

The music sounds with a live orchestra and Khalil has the honed skills the grandest opera singer performing in front of his peers with all the confidence in the world. Musicians do not have to sing in one language--their music speaks all languages. I am in love with piano and sentimental music that communicates without speaking. The romantic back story translates the music in a perfect way to add another dimension. 

Khalil does not make music on the cheap and he does not spare costs for his music video. He has said, the project is not about making money, but I hope it does. He is up to a great thing here and he may do Arabic music a great favor by freeing it from the chains of the spoken word.

With  Khalil Abou Obeid, music is universal once again. The good news for talents like Abou Obeid is in Lebanese cinema, more films are being made in Lebanon. His music as in soundtracks is needed to help the director tell a better story.

Sherine To Collaborate With Her Ex For Her Album

Being divorced sucks, but keeping things cordial in the aftermath of a divorce is no easy task. I like how Sherine has conducted herself throughout her devastating divorce. Sherine and her former husband composer Moustafa Awad have separated this summer after five years of marriage and having two cute little girls. The media seemed to respect and honor the couple as they have not tried to make a huge deal out of this sudden divorce.

Sherine has refused to talk much about the divorce and kept herself busy on The Voice. That was a great move as most people were surprised by her sudden divorce. The pop diva has been busy working on her big comeback album after she has been freed from the shackles of Rotana. She is producing her own album, so she is the boss.

The good news, the rocking songstress and TV personality has picked her husband to give her three new musical composition for her songs. The news was shared by the former husband in an interview. the composer has commented, that songs have nothing to do with their disagreement and split.

On the same note, they couple may be reconciling and getting back together--they had their divorce story, now they may be able to rekindle their love once again.

Enas Lattouf is a troublemaker young lady who has a velvet throat. She currently appears on The Voice as one of the contestant. She is a huge fan of Assi, so she is on his crew. Assi was the first judge to turn his chair, the rest did not. she did not go without teasing them about regretting not picking her.

Enas could use some good news as her home has not being stable for at least 16 months now. Enas seems to have dozens of fans who comment on her news and status. If the performance below any indication, Enas is the real treat of the show. Enas comes from a minority group from the port city of Tartus. she seems to have a massage following among the Syrian community at large.

Khalil Abou Obeid "Essar" Music Album

The music writer and contemporary composer and music teacher Khalil Abou Obeid is releasing his debut album "Essar" where the music takes a center stage form this creative Lebanese music coach. Not only did Khalil wrote the music, he has also invited scores of musicians and composers to contrite to this unique music project.

The album was released with as a number of Arab singers turned out for the event, Saber El Robaei was there and so was Dina Hayek. Assi Hallani spoke to the media about the work of Khalil who is working with The Voice. Composer Michael Fadel also was there. Khalil Abou Obeid becasme a household name when he coached students at the Star Academy program.

Khalil, wrote, composed, sang and produced the album all on his own. He even filmed his music video in the state of Montenegro with a Serbian director. Syrian young star Mohammed Majdoub was also present and so was Elaine Mahfouz. They all turned out to attend the launch of the soundtrack. Khalil is talking up the game is a non-commercial project--he is dong it for the love of the music.

Mourad Bouriki Post The Voice Interview And Reception At Home

The Saudi news network caught up with Mourad Bouriki the Moroccan winner of the Voice, he chatted with them about his singing style, the show and how it feels. We learn that his mom prayed for him and asked him to win the title for Morocco--a country that does not tend to do well in such shows.

The young winner did not think he would win the title, he knew he had three strong rivals--two of them scared him. But it seems that his Andalusia style of singing and Arabic Tarab have rubbed people the right way, and they have voted for him. He can do high and low pitch songs and people appreciate that. He is one of those original flavored that connect listeners with the past. I think with the help of Red One, the world class music producer, Mourad can be a true star.

The difference with the old classical music that it wan'y overly commercialized. Sure there were the financial backers, but those ones we see today it has commercials like this new music video as recorded by the four finalists from The Voice. That company that sells hair care products logo appears all over the song. The song is titled "Stand Out", "Radiate" which is only possible if you use that famous shampoo.

This was filmed as the young singers recorded the song, there are no images or master edits, they just wanted to get the four in the studio and have a jamming session with them. Not a classic, even though it may sound like one. Poetry always seems to outlive good music, but sometimes, they complement one another.

I love the intro to the song, it feels like a gypsy track that makes you want to act like happy feet.

You will see two Moroccans, one Tunisian lady and a fine Iraqi voice. By the time the video surfaced, the winner of The Voice has been announced--supposedly fans all over the Arab world have voted for him--Mourad Bouriki took home the title. The clip features the vocalists trying to outcool one another as they figure their way around the camera.

The proud kingdom of Morocco took home the title for the Voice, his mentor Assi Hallani is so proud. The winner of the first season of the Arabic version of The Voice is Mrad Boreqy. This was a stunning surprise for many observers who have not taken special interest in Mourad Bouriki and his dazzling performances.  The Moroccan flag flew a little higher in Beirut where the episode aired on Friday the 14th. The judges now can take a break after an informal finale--where Sherine brought her little girl who ran on stage.

This is the closing ceremony and each coach gave a closing speech and so has the four contestants. A class act speech by Katehm Al Saher who has recognized the suffering of the children and those who are living under attacks and bombing in the world. The final four came from Tunis, Iraq and two from Morocco. Mourad was the most professional and most loyal to his signings  He won because he was good, not because he was the most charismatic.

As for Mourad has dominated with his covers of the Syrian oldies--a t ouch singing form where high low pitches are needed to dazzle. I congratulate the young singer and wish him well, he has the voice and has now won The Voice over. His next move is important. I hope this is the begging of a Moroccan music revival.

MBC made a lot of money from this big in rating show--I was suspicious at first. Moroccans almost always do poorly in those shows whereas Egyptians tend to win more often. Some refer to RedOne, the world class Moroccan music producer interfering in favor to the Mourad. Mourad won the night with a cover of Oum Kalthoum song--always a crowd pleaser.

Mourad won few things, a big truck from a famous America company model 2013. A contract with Univrsal Music where the popular Moroccan native RedOne would oversee the production of the album.

Kadem Al Saher Is The Third River Of Iraq

Arabs like to make up their own dictators. Why does the song of a celebrated Iraqi singer deserve special attention that any other contestant. The question, I pose to the Voice on MBC. Qusay Hatem is the song of Hatem Al Iraqi, the legendary composer and singer.

The guy have a good voice, and picked a great song of his dad's to perform it on the show. Most judges loves him in seconds, it took Kadem few minutes to join the cheer-leading squad. But it turn out Qusay has picked Saber El Robaei over Kadem Al Saher--who strives to book all the Iraqi talents on the show.

Some were unhappy with Qusay's decision  but if perhaps knowing that his own father and Saber have a number of musical projects helps explain the decision  It has also been said that young Qusay wanted to give Iraq another chance by joining another team. Qusai is a very young person, I would have say 17 years old maybe.

I am certain, Kadem is a legend and he does not need anybody to tell him that, Qusay is talented and the Arab world knows that. He brings some joy into the lives of many Iraqis. I am certain his dad is a great mentor for the young man. His take on the Iraqi Mawal  is refreshing. The song about immigration and leaving the motherland is a soft spot for most Iraqis.

No woman I know wants a man who cries more than she does. She may want him to be sensitive  and emotional at times. But not too emotional. I such balance lives a new old singer from is none other than the always sweet Samer Abu Talib. The voice who is making waves on the popular show The Voice. While he has released an album in 2009, he is still trying to figure out the commercial success and the going big thing.

His songs often remind me of something I may have otherwise forgotten. Also, the singer's voice and execution of the lyrics is important, he is always on the same level as the instrumentation. He is the sincere guy who shines in his pretty sweet solo.

Samer is not about getting the adrenaline going, instead his songs usually fall under great lyrics, moving melodies and musicianship. He is the singing broken heart, I sing because otherwise I would cry. We won't bear being apart, but this is the only option we have sings Samer

Assi Hallani Makes A Big Deal Out Of His B-Day

Lebanon's dude and most famous heir to the legends of Lebanese song Assi Hallani is celebrating his birthday with his fans and his family. So here's a collection of songs that mention his name, some are even performed by the original artists.

You get see some music old and new videos for this prolific artist. He had a long career and certainly there are those songs that you have to known and even like. UNICEF Picks Assi Hallani To Feed Not To Self-Promote

According to Wikipedia
UNICEF was created by the United Nations General Assembly on December 11, 1946, to provide emergency food and healthcare to children in countries that had been devastated by World War II. In 1954. UNICEF works for children's rights, their survival, development and protection.

Assi Hallani was picked to be a good will ambassador for this UN agency and once he singed the contract, he went on to party with his little minions form the Voice. While UNICEF is meant to feed children. Assi is feeding grownups and using it as a publicity stunts to self-promote. Partying is easy, but the assignment is a task not a reward, there are serious obligations Assi has to meet.

His team from #TheVoice are not his posy, nor are they his fluffers. He cannot just use them to be part of his entourage at parties and such. I hope he does well for the UNICEF and promote their work, not just his ego and his celebrity status. There is a lot of need for help around Lebanon, so there's plenty of work to be promoted. Assi got some business connections, I hope he can put them to good use.

Video: Drunk Or High? Sherine On "The Voice"

1. She trips and falls on stage and loses her balance last week. Her peers on the show break in laughter at the sight of her falling in front of the live in studio audience.
2. Then she tells a young singer trying to compliment his performance  "The original singer behind the song, should never touch it again" A rude thing to say that caused a stir with the singer composer Amr Moustafa
3. She asks one of the female participants on the show for an awkward kiss while she seems to be on a different universe. She has also referred to that young woman "Mooza" an often sexual  term used to describe women 
4. Then she is sniffing a while rose when the TV host talks to her, she says I am busy smelling this rose given to me by the Czar Kazim Al Saher, then she smiles in a weird manner and says, "Kazim is sweet like honey". The Iraqi singer was not sure how to deal with this random and confusing moment. 

 What do you guys think? Watch the videos and tell me. Sherine is going through divorce now and might have been indulging in some recreational activities. No one knows that, but form what I have been noticing, she might be going through the self-destruct phase.

The Voice is getting a lot of reviews, and people are actually watching the show. But no other clip is as popular as the one below. We love to see the stars stumble, and fall on camera. We like those videos because we think they humiliate--humble some stars.

Sherine was walking back to the stage from a very strong performance for her breakout song form 11 years ago. In her green dress, high heels, and she fell as she tried to make her way to the chair. Her colleagues ruched to her rescue.Saber got to her sooner, and then they giggled about it. I think the young people were confused not sure what to make out of it.

The host did not know how to treacle  but sherine got back and thank him for his flattery.

Meet "The Voice" Teams, Whose Your Pick?

The four charismatic judges of "The Voice" have made their teams known. All of them, Kazem, Sherine, Saber And Assi have settled on their teams and they are making them in the center stage.

The posters with the images of the young team members are out now, each of them wrote something telling about themselves. Each artists has picked  six talents to represent his best picks. Who will sink and who will swim?

For some reason, I feel Saber has some serious names on his team, I like Qusai, Lamia and I have always been a fan of Samer's. I am sure other teams also feature some prime talent.
