Listen: Star Academy Sara Farah New Dance Single اغنيه سارة فرح - بعز الظهر

Some parts of Syria are on fire, and some Syrians are hotter than smoke. Sara Farah is one of those people who are too hot to handle. She was the runner up two years ago for the title of Star Academy, I thought she was great, and as a Syrian she had all those authentic elements that make Syrian talents stand tall as they perform any song they chose to bring to light.

Her comeback is with an original song that reminds her fans that she is not going anywhere, her talent is something or a fresh take on dance songs. In fairness, she sounds like another young Syrian pop songstresses who also won a similar show few years before Sara.

One note, this is the radio version as the rights free songs has yet to be released. The promo picture is a bit sizzling for this time of the year. Sara is doing something new, the way to stay in the radar is to do something people do not expect you to do....she is pulling a chapter from the famous movie Basic Instinct and the leg crossing sexy chair. I like the lyrics, they allow for Sara to show her strength, and they keep her busy in the summer music festival season. The music is upbeat as hell and it's a cool summer breeze that this young lady's career needs.

The Mandatory "Egypt, I Love" Song By ZeeZee Adel

I love Egypt and I want nothing in return  I love its people, their stories and their big hearts and their unmatched sense of humor. I want nothing back for my unconditional love for this land that's dear to each Arab and Muslim out there.

I want nothing but the best and I want to see Egypt rule the world, I want to see their work celebrated and their products all over. It's with that love, I wish they would just chill and let democracy work. Give your president a chance, you voted him in for four years. You cannot take that back form him. I am certain he now hears you. there is no reason for violence and clashes. please

For that, here's a song by ZeeZee Adel, the Egyptian girl that many swoon over her when she appeared on Star Academy. She sings for Egypt, and about her love for it, not her love for a single party or faction.

WATCH: Marwa Ben Sghaier-Je t'aime (studio)مروى بن صغير-

Marwa came from a relatively smaller Arab country, Tunisia and she took part of the Star Academy music reality show. She left with a huge impression as her romantic and dreamy voices truns even the toughest human being into butter. Her Arabic cover of Fayrous and other classics were dazzling to see the least. But her singing in French opened Pandora's box.

While Marwa has huge following and the name recognition  she is still not a mainstream success  This is not her own fault, but I am award that she is still engaged in the music scene. Marwa is a fragile artist with delicate feelings, she is no business manager.

Check out her latest song in French, as she performs the song in studio. It makes me feel something--even thought I have little idea what her words are saying. I feel she is confessing how much she adores someone, am I right?

Listen: Mostafa Mezher Is Crying Romantic Man مصطفى مزهر - اشتقت لكل شي فيك

This song is not for me, but Roa loves it so very much. Mostafa has a great voice, and I think ti shows in each of his few songs. I am just not in the habit of enjoying grown men who like to cry for love. I might trying to be tougher than my real self. But this song will move your heart and get you to recall earlier memories.

It's hard to tell the nationality of the man behind the song, but not knowing much, he sounds like a Lebanese lover boy. But Jordanians have been doing similar style songs in the past two years. The young man who a million dollar smile delivers a romantic hit. Plus he has a great hair, so he might be getting the media love.

Keep on mind, he appeared on Star Academy 5th season. He is Lebanese who has grew up in the Saudi Kingdom and educated at the American University in Beirut.

Hady Aswad Comes With Surprises اغنية هادى اسود - حبك مات - جديد 2012

As a person who comes from Palestine, I have grew up appreciating the Bedouin dialect--sometimes it's called the white dialect. Its' the mother dialect where Palestinian, Lebanese, Syrian and Jordanian come from. This might explain why I have enjoyed the new single by Hady Aswad.

Hady was the students who appeared on Star Academy first season--he was turned down. He mhad better luck in the second season in Amman Jordan. Like most, he has enjoyed music since he was a little boy--me too! He hails from Damascus, but moves to Lebanon to refine his music education.

He trained with the star Academy coaches and made few friendships along the way. He was dubbed as the singer with surprises, he came third in that competition. He does romantic and warm songs, but his latest single offer a lot more passion and dance music than he had done in the past.

Dance To Joseph Attieh - Rayhin Beytna / رايحين بيتنا

Joseph Attieh used his time on Star Academy well. Among his peers he has survived the post show fame and focused on building up his brand. He is a cool, and a lovable entertainer. He is drama free and works in silence, he speaks when he have something new to say.

We now know, he can sing romantic/dance/and Tarab style songs. But he is also a killer drummer, and he has surprised many with his direction of one of his hits. But largely  he has done most of his songs using the Lebanese dialect--his own. He has largely manged to do two things, be the dream boat voice for the young people. and be that fantasy for the older women who still think he is cute.

This time he is back with a new single about happy couple who are asking for blessings as they move in together, hoping to start a family. Joseph chose this song, or it chose him in the Egyptian dialect. I love the beat, and how the song is planned out, there is the happy Arabic dance stuff, but also the club people will like it as it has some house mix.

WATCH: منى أمرشا - رفع ضغطي | Mona Amarsha - Rafaa Daghti

She is Morocco's most known pop star in the Gulf region, had you not known this fact, you would think she is a local girl from some country in the Khalij region. The former contestant on Star Academy  made a bold decision early one. She walked away from the program and moved to Dubai for work. It all worked out for her and she opened Pandora's box.

Concert gigs, record deals, music videos, and celebrity status of a Goddess. And her latest songs takes the gold a love song about a husband who drives his wife insane. The song's titled you made my blood pressure shot up....how about that? This song was being hyped for sometime and now it comes at this minute.

This is the story of a casting director who has to pick a leading female to play a role. His wife tries to get the gig by elimination other ladies to win her over--as well as the part. The song and the videos are made for teens, I am guessing. How come is everyone looks so perfect, dressed so well and seems to be clean cut?  I do like the rap lines by Mona.

I do not like the stalking part and showing women as fighting over a man--he will win. Again, this is mixing business with personal. I have appreciated the retro looks of the sixties. Then again, this is a fun music video with many amazing looks for everyone involved. Some of those dresses are just stunning.

WATCH: Syrian Nassif Zeytoun - Larmik Bbalach / ناصيف زيتون - لرميك ببلاش

The best looking and most charismatic Syrian singer Nassif Zeytoun has made one hell of a song and the music video is a piece of art work. This young Syrian showed real talent in making this mature selection. He is going on the right path. I am just happy to see him making a good song that has wide-range appeal.

It's easy to make cheap songs, and dance friendly beats. But to find a song that mushes all this beautifully is no easy task. The music video shows some serious acting cred for this former Star Academy winner. I would say he is the last well-rounded selection before things go sour throughout Arabia.

When you are in love, you should always be on the edge, because if this was so good, you would not it to last, like all things, they come with expiration date. The director is also a new comer, so I am happy to see this meaningful collaboration.

The emotional conflict about love/hate/jealousy and all other things people who have been in love know beat.  His new look, makes him look cool for his age without coming across as someone who has tried too hard. God bless, Syria and its finest entertainers who have guarded the Arab aspirations for generations.

Listen: Mohamed Maghraby New Single اغنية محمد المغربى - اهو ده اللى صار

Mohamed Maghraby is the dark horse of Arabic romance music. The son of the Egyptian city of Alexandria who appeared on the Star Academy 7th season is kicking off 2013 with a new single showcasing his uniq blend of pop and heartfelt emotional patriotic songs.

Other pop stars were impressed with his warmth and spoke in favor of the young entertainer. Mohamed Maghraby credits his loving family and friends who have helped him grow and reveal his personal style. He is a talented guitar player, and has showed his acting chops as well.

I appreciate the new song, and think if the time is right, the artist would have a no issue getting a recording deal, but things are tough all around. I hope he sticks around, makes few good songs and make his fans happy all over again.

WATCH: Haitham Al Shomali Wings It- Na' W Za' / هيثم الشوملي - نق و زق

Haitham Al Shomali likes to wing all things in life, including the girl he likes but unsure if he wants to make the move. Sounds like something strange, but this is the feeling I get form this manly and hairy singer. He likes to party and play cards with the buddies. But he is having issues with his lady...and he dares to tell the world about it. Haitham was one of the pioneers who took part of the Super Star third season right before it was taken over by the Star Academy company.

He is a Palestinian singer from Lebanon who despite tough circumstance he found his own path in a place that has some identity crisis. He has an album out from which this song was taken. I like his groovy style and care free. Haithem took part of one of those realist singing shows and got his name out there. He does have a strong voice, unlike many of his peers.

He is living the dream, surrounded by females, enjoying the companies of his friends and doing whatever the hell he wants. But then with that kind of thinking, you will always be alone. I like how the edn of the clip where the credits start rolling, we get to see the artist kicking it with the fans in a New year party which he sang at.

WATCH: Enchanted By Khalil Abou Obeid Isar ايسار: خليل ابو عبيد

Filmed in one of the most under marketed tourist spots in the world, Montenegro with a local director who has an international fame. Khalil Abou Obeid, the seasoned music coach known from Star Academy and most recently The Voice is making a big splash with the release of his most celebrated music project to date--Isar.

Not only does the artist put the focus on the music and its power to change hearts, he does so in style and grace unmatched on the stage. The dazzling Khalil brings out the piano out in the nature where he gets inspired to perform his latest piece. This versatile Lebanese music writer is letting us walk through his world and we are asking for an encore.

The music sounds with a live orchestra and Khalil has the honed skills the grandest opera singer performing in front of his peers with all the confidence in the world. Musicians do not have to sing in one language--their music speaks all languages. I am in love with piano and sentimental music that communicates without speaking. The romantic back story translates the music in a perfect way to add another dimension.

Khalil does not make music on the cheap and he does not spare costs for his music video. He has said, the project is not about making money, but I hope it does. He is up to a great thing here and he may do Arabic music a great favor by freeing it from the chains of the spoken word.

With  Khalil Abou Obeid, music is universal once again. The good news for talents like Abou Obeid is in Lebanese cinema, more films are being made in Lebanon. His music as in soundtracks is needed to help the director tell a better story.

Mirhan Hussein Promotes Sexual Harassment In Egypt

Men are pigs, let's get that out of the way. they will harass any female, her clothes do not matter, so there you have it. It's wrong to harass anybody, and it's creepy and dangerous when men try to harass and intimidate women in the streets of Egypt. Verbal harassment is also wrong, not only physical harassment. What some guys think is harmless fun is actually a creepy, immoral and sometimes illegal act.

Now, women also have a role to play, which is not becoming part of an act that promotes sexual harassment and hostility. The video below makes such hideous and unwanted acts look cool. This is why I take issue with one Egyptian songstress and young talent Mirhan Hussein. In the video below see alpha and beta males try to capture her attention.

Mirhan shot to fame for participating in the Star Academy show fifth season. She qualified with her singing, and acting. Then she met Tamer Hosny in his lowest point  he used her as a model for one of his music videos, concerns and she also starred in his move Omar and Salma sequel. She has taken part of a number of TV dramas and projects so she is a celebrity with a career.

I do not think this is the right way to do pop, Egypt has a problem with harassment on the streets and in other places, last thing they need is a music video with a female that seems to endorse the practice. Again Mirhan is not the only one at fault. Tamer Hosny has now realizee what he has been promoting in his music.

The Unwrapping Of Pretty And Talented Ziad Bourji

I was not aware that hip Lebanese singer Ziad Bourji was a composer. He has hit it big in the mid 2000 with few romantic singles. He did romantic singles and sounds like the guy you would want him serenading you. He can pull the charm very well. Then all of a sudden I learn he is actually a good composer. He composed one of the finest songs on Elissa's 2012 album and he has performed it live on stage at one of her concerts.

Now Ziad has been starring in Lebanese sitcom which according to him in this interview has high rating. This is a talented entertainer who also looks stylish. He is also speaking about his most recent statements about his lack of respect to journalists, a scene in the sitcom started the rumor mill.

Ziad started his career in in 1996 when he appeared on the hit show Studio El Fan then. But he has also taken part in the Star Academy show on LBS on its fifth season. He is an avid PlayStation player and has confessed to writing songs with a poet who also plays with him. He does romantic songs, and dance Lebanese songs. And his most recent project involved him working on a music in the Khaliji dialect.

Ziad will performed at two New Year concerts in Beirut alongside Naya and Ayman Zabib

From Mohamed Dakdouk To Prophet Mohamed

When your name is Mohamed, I think you have a certain obligation, which is to defend your namesake more so than most other Muslims. Mohamed Dakdouk is one of the tens of stars who came to the music scene through the gates of Star Academe--he was on season 8.

After leaving the show, he had couple of concerts, interviews and such in between home in Syria, Cairo and Beirut. He now returns with a new single dedicated to the prophet of Islam--Mohammed. This songs comes as a reaction to the vile movies that made news on September 11, 2012. He sounds sincere and to have lived the song before he has recorded it.

He brings back that famed Syrian musical tradition with super charged vocal strength. It's those kinds of songs that show his skill, not some lame songs. He has to sing for a long time and hold his breath. Dakdouk has a winner here I feel the song unlike many before it, is actually well made with a high production value. Dakdouk challenged himself here to craft one song that speaks for a billion and a half soul. Daqdouq has a very strong voice which allows him to hits very high notes, which makes him easily perform Islamic anasheed style of singing with little instrumental music.

and he has chose the right time for this song.

اغنية نسمة محجوب - كريسماس Listen: Nesma Mahgoub Christmas Song

Star Academy most recent winner Nesma Mahgoub has never made a big deal of her admiration of songs in English. This time she is using them to send a seasonal greeting for all those who celebrate the holidays namely Christmas and the New Year.

I love the performance  she is worthy pop star with a very solid voice that. She make a good choice with her cover of this classic and she released it in time for the holidays--celebrated in Egypt as well. Her humming and a Capella version are truly amusing.

Her performance of "We Wish You a Merry Christmas", a popular secular sixteenth-century English carol from the West Country of England. The origin of this Christmas carol lies in the English tradition wherein wealthy people of the community gave Christmas treats to the carolers on Christmas Eve, such as figgy puddings that were very much like modern day Christmas puddings.

Jerks Prompt Tamer Hosny Not To Release His Wife's Debut Album

Tamer Hosny is a changed man, but the people of Arabia are still the same, they are conservative, confused and sometimes hypocritical. Thus, they are hard to please. Right before they got engaged and now married Egyptian pop sensation Tamer Hosny worked with his friend (now his wife) Bassma Boussil on a music video and a duet. The promo was released last year and there was a romantic love story in those short seconds.

Still Bassma Boussil wanted her music career to flourish  so Tamer Hosny introduced her to his producer Mohsen Jaber to produce an album for her--which he did. the album is ready to be released any minute now. But Tamer Hosny and Bassma Boussil are a couple now, so the game changes a bit. This is an issue because some jerks living at home with their parents put videos and pictures of Bassma when she was on Star Academy. Such people are haters and forget had this been their family, they would have been upset.

It's a tough position for Tamer to be in, if the album releases, jerks will talk and people will think Tamer is not being protective of his wife--translation one has to act as if they are obsessive. The album does not release, lots of money has to be paid back to the producers, and Bassma might not like to start her relationship with Tamer by ending her own music career.

I wish our people would talk less, and mind their business. so what she is singing not putting on a naked dancing show. But the latest rumor is that another songstress will perform the same songs which Bassma has already recorded -that would lower the sunk costs. What's missing is Bassma's voice on all this, she has yet to make a statement about her marriage first and second about her album.

Listen: Abdul Salam Mohammed Rumba Music Single ماصارت صبر عبدالسلام محمد

He is one of the tend of Star Academy former stars, but he is so different from most of them. A unique voice with Iraqi flavors written all over him. He had to face many obstacles being part of the show and has lasted more than his peers--Aside form music, he is a good soccer player where he prefers the goalie position  He was also a player for a professional soccer team.

Here's the kicker he is form Kuwait, but you will never guess that from his singing, his dialect and his energy  The rumba music is very hot right now in the Khalij. Seven out of 10 local songs use the Rumba beat to step up the volume and heat things up. I like this single, it makes me feel happy and excited to be alive. I do not have to hear the story or the lyrics, this is the right way to make a catchy song.

Khalil Abou Obeid "Essar" Music Album

The music writer and contemporary composer and music teacher Khalil Abou Obeid is releasing his debut album "Essar" where the music takes a center stage form this creative Lebanese music coach. Not only did Khalil wrote the music, he has also invited scores of musicians and composers to contrite to this unique music project.

Zaher Saleh "flawless" With Rufus Blaq

Every Arab star dreams about being a global icon, but few can even come close to having a global audience. For starter, one needs the crossover power, the smooth dance moves, the presence and the ability to sing to top notch melodies. I think one such star already exists and he is a full blown Palestinian who lives in between New York and Ohio.

The name is Zaher Saleh, he is a perfect dancer with so many moves and tricks that can out Chris Brown to shame. But he is all about music, so he makes it when he can. After taking a year and so as a statistical he is back with a new duet which he recorded in New York with a local hip hop R&B artist Rufus Blaq.

Musically Zaher musics has been shaped by the likes of Michael Jackson, Adam Levine, Enrique Iglesias and the legendary Frank Sinatra. incredibly innovative, silky smooth, dance pop, is just one of many ways to describe the sound and style of Z.a.h.e.r. fresh off of his success from prime time T.V. show star academy fifth season where he was one of the finalists. Some people out there prefer it when a song is not in their language. If they understand the words, sometimes a word is vocalized in such a way that it seems to hold up the flow of the song. At the same time, there has to be vocals because music is just boring without it. Zaher chooses songs with that on mind.

It's is becoming tougher and tougher to make music--so little reward, but Zaher seems to work hard on himself worthy of attention. Singing in English and Arabic has never looked so easy, something Zaher is really a natural at. He does not make music that can be-defined by a given language, he moves back and forth from Arabic note to an English beat with ease.

I was moved by the comments by many of his fans who feel so passionately about their beloved star. They have very much missed him and they have cheer his new single "flawless".

flawless
