WATCH: Pirates of The Arabian Amina - Ya Marakby / أمينة - يا مراكبي

Two folksy Egyptian divas join forces to bring out this duet about seeing Egypt by the boat, streaming up/down the Nile in a boat to see the land--all the land. This is Amina, the one who made sha'abi songs hip again, brings an older diva Fatmah Eid and together they do this duet.

The song has a lot of shouting and the theme is less Egypt and more pirates of the Caribbean and sexy ladies of Treasure Island. This is a good attempt to make an action/adventure music video using the song as an excuse. I think the director forgot this is a music video about Egypt, he just wanted to burn some money and adding something cool to his resume.

The two ladies are the greatest friends and one can see Amina looks up to Ms. Eid, and Eid is not done yet, even though she has slowed down. I like the outfits and the dances, but the computer affects are sophomoric. This is the old look for Amina making a comeback after she went for the amazing plastic look in her previous music video.

Listen: Star Academy Sara Farah New Dance Single اغنيه سارة فرح - بعز الظهر

Some parts of Syria are on fire, and some Syrians are hotter than smoke. Sara Farah is one of those people who are too hot to handle. She was the runner up two years ago for the title of Star Academy, I thought she was great, and as a Syrian she had all those authentic elements that make Syrian talents stand tall as they perform any song they chose to bring to light.

Her comeback is with an original song that reminds her fans that she is not going anywhere, her talent is something or a fresh take on dance songs. In fairness, she sounds like another young Syrian pop songstresses who also won a similar show few years before Sara.

One note, this is the radio version as the rights free songs has yet to be released. The promo picture is a bit sizzling for this time of the year. Sara is doing something new, the way to stay in the radar is to do something people do not expect you to do....she is pulling a chapter from the famous movie Basic Instinct and the leg crossing sexy chair. I like the lyrics, they allow for Sara to show her strength, and they keep her busy in the summer music festival season. The music is upbeat as hell and it's a cool summer breeze that this young lady's career needs.

Can Someone Please Help Diana Haddad Out!

I love to see some Diana Haddad, and I love to her her authentic voice doing the songs we love from her. She just had a streak of bad luck lately and she is far too talented to let her career tank. I know she is working on reviving her own career, she has gave us a good album more than a year ago. But it lacked the flavor. I am in love with her new single she released few months ago "Albi Wafi", or "My Heart Is Loyal", I thought seeing the old Diana Haddad back in action.

She has the loyal fan base, she is a huge draw in Dubai, and the Beirut. She is one of the few Arab entertainers who can call both those places home. She is a citizen in both of those countries and she has paid her dues. Furthermore, she  grew up in Kuwait, so she knows the lingo very well. Her album of 2011, tanked in terms of sales. Her business manager should not have a job in this business.

But, she needs to reflect on her career, she cannot just go back to her old ways, doing Khaliji songs that no one loves but most tolerate. She needs to reconnect with her her past and reconstruct her image. She has tried to venture into new territory like doing in Iraqi song last year in her album. Then she talked about doing a Moroccan track and a song for kids. But this sounds not like Diana Haddad, she is following other pop stars on a game she will lose.

Diana is doing too many things, I think the right thing for her to do is do an album with no song for the Gulf--just the same good old Egyptian and Lebanese songs. She is a star because of those songs, and she lead on those fronts. For the past five years, I have been watching Diana make one mistake after another, she needs to stop and call her old crew back. I am certain they love working with her.

She has not done any Bedouin style songs in five years, and no Egyptian songs for six years. She cannot do everything, she is talented but we only like one side of her and certainly not a mediocre children song. She needs a new music projects free of Gulf music, this album will sell and will bring sexy back

She does not need any household names and she should not talk about the project, make it a surprise for all of us. She is overexposed, there are many media outlets who love to talk to her. She should step back and record some new songs, and not talk about them, till she is reach out to them. Stick in Lebanon for a little bit, do not just travel there on business trip. Let the people inspire you let the dialect sink in. Trust me, the Gulf loves non Khaliji music, they will come around. She has already manged to get some of the wasted respect with her single "Albi Wafi"

WATCH: 2013 New Video Myriam Fares Kifak Enta - ميريام فارس كيفك إنت

The number one dancing Lebanese pop star let is all be seen with her most recent music video filmed on the roof of some Beirut apartment. It feels like a nostalgic music video form the sixties where women and men had different concepts for fashion and styles.

To be fair, this is a wonderful song, and a good music video. Why did they have to make it like a meat market though is the question. She is shaking her money maker and has help this time, and makeover works well for her and the Lebanese melody is clear.

This plays like a theater group, the makeup, the color mixing, and style designers will be in this business for some time. The song is no doubt classy, and feels like a throwback to the beloved Lebanese oldies who love so much. This song has a lasting affects, and feels like something old yet so fresh.

The last outfit seems like a creep fest please note the perfume endorsement. It's clear that Myriam Fares is facing a lot of competition so she had to work harder and smarter to stick out, and she did. In the past she had to worry about four other pop divas, now she has like a dozen who do similar styles, among them some ladies who can really entertain.

Download: May Kassab Album Habibi Waadni / ألبوم مى كساب حبيبى وعدنى

She is one of the spunkiest pop stars in Egypt, she is cute, she is fun and most importantly, she is all Egyptian. This is Mai Kassab's third album and she is loving it. She has turned to acting in the slow music season, but this is her comeback, the album is her first in more than four years.

The producer and the artist would like you to buy the original album from the music store, not some online copy. Because this is a touch time for them-if you do not buy them they won't make them anymore. A girlie album, a dance one and some drama for sure.

I find myself drawn to Mai years ago, she seems like that good girl who is not naive or dreamy, but rather real, like many ladies out there. I do not like the slow songs usually, but she seems to go to work for those songs as she records them. There too many pop female personalities in Egypt, to her fans and they are many, she is top three. I also like the song where she tells her man to get real and approach her family with a marriage proposal. In those times, this seems to be an old style, as more men boast about freedom as a cop out.

As for summer albums, this is a worthy album that both men and woman can enjoy, she is so cool and the album cover makes the summer heat go away. Mai does not have the best vocal set, but with what she has she has made the most of it and this is simply sufficient for so many of those looking for an entertaining album that also has a good cry. I really like how much the songs and Mai spend talking about relationships and love.

Non-Existing Saudi Princess Gives Pop Star Wissam Hilal A Fancy Ride!

Some Arab pop star who sings in English and likes cars, takes pictures inside some nice car. Next he knows at least two news stories about him, "Wissam Hilal Received A Car As A Gift From Saudi Princess" No, this is not a joke. But no, really he did not get a free car.

Wissam has posed those stories on his Facebook and it seems he is surprised by those fabricated and  Stupid and baseless non-news stories. I can understand that, it's a slow news day, and such websites make shit up. (Read here and here) The car you see in the picture is one of those car shows items. It's Nissan GTR 2013 .. It's does not belong to the artist and frankly he has yet to get his driving license in the United Arab Emirates where he is currently based.

Per his Facebook page

Seriously? It seems I was right when I kept my private stuff away from everyone because I kind of knew previously how people in this part of the world would think. This is a desperate attempt to ruin someone like me's image!
PS: I never met Marwa!!

The Syria native singer known for such funky and dancy hits "Single" is also celebrating a new MTV-nominated music video "Last Goodbye" I liken Wissam's style and choices to those of American music star Justin Timberlake. God knows they are both good looking, both sharply dressed and both make dazzling music.

Wissam Hilal - The Last Goodbye (Official Music Video)

P.S. This story follows another story where a handsome man from the UAE was expelled from the Saudi Kingdom (for being gorgeous) received a car as a gift from another Saudi princess.

Ramy Ayach Revisits The Romantic Past رامي عياش - يا ريت بترضي ياريت

Rabee' Alkoholi quit the show business, but he has never stopped singing, now he sings at his church where he is a priest. Rabee was the golden boy of pop romance in the 1980s and he was wroth his weight gold. Then all of a sudden he wanted to do something more. He cold the music business cold and joined a perish.

Many of Rabee's friends continue to visit with him at the church where he serves. Among them pop star Ramy Ayach who credits Rabee for helping him through some personal struggle. But now during his new year concert on LBC1 Ramy Ayach performed one of the most beloved classics by Rabee.

Ramy dedicated the song to his new fiance and the net took the song and ran with it. It's hard to come close to the original song, but Ramy has given it his best shot. Yarait Ebterdhi Yarait, I hope she would say yes! is how the song would be titled in English. a romantic song with a dreamy melody, I grew up listening to it. I think one of the reasons Ramy Ayach started his career because he had that shade of romance, very similar to those songs by Rabee.

This is a throwback to one of the most beloved love songs, a guy can perfrom.

Party Like Samo Zaen Does In His Concerts

Samo Zaen buddied up with a Turkish DJ and he had him arrange one of his hit songs form last year. Together they appeared in a sold out concert in Sharm El Sheikh, close to the red sea for a concert. It seems the young people in attendance wanted a good time and Samo gave them just that.

This is an upbeat song, made for dance, I love how the DJ was the dance and cheer leader at the same time. Samo Zaen did his thing as well as he often does. This is a romance song, but the beat makes it perfect for the dancer in each one of us.

The lyrcis are those of Tamer Hussein, who has also helped with the music. To be fair, this is fresh sounding song, which is becoming more uncommon nowadays. The concert looks dope, with all the effects and sound system, it seemed like a great times to have.

The Very Strong Case For Fadwa Almalki

Fadwa Almalki is a strong voice from Morocco who is hungry for your attention. I think she deserves your full attention. For a strong female voice to do a pop song in Egyptian is so much not fair, she can do more complex songs, but Egypt is always a lovely place to sing to.

She won a singing title across the Kingdom and has been dazzling the audience for a decade now. In 1999 Egypt called her and gave her an ward for her performance of those Oum Kaltoum oldies. Her debut album came in 2002 and she filmed one music video in Istanbul  She followed it with a 2006 album. Since then she has been working on singles that keep her in the loop.

She is a fixture of Moroccan music festivals and she in demand. She has also sang for Palestine in Doha. She is one of the very few ladies to perform in Saudi Arabia's biggest music festival Al Jandarya. She has recorded many Moroccan songs, she has recorded in Amman Jordan as well as other Arab capitals.

She is a strong voice that the Khalij has called her to do songs for their TV dramas. She does a great job singing in the local dialects since she grew up listening to old songs for that region. She is an award-wiing songstress with all the makings of a diva. She has already performed alongside Mohamed Abdu's Arabia's biggest living Saudi legend  She is well known among other artists who appreciate her voice and her style. Fadwa is well traveled and so is her songs.

Download: Adel Mokhtar New Album البوم عادل المختار - الافندى

The Arabic word Mokhtar is means the chosen one, and Adel has that as his last name. When it comes to Iraqi pop he is OK, but when it comes to be part of the biggest Arabic music production companies he is the one. Rotana signed Adel and pushed him toward the Gulf market.

Iraqi pop has been making a big splash in the past five years--thanks to friendly audience and big music studios based in Dubai. So, they keep bring out their stars and the Khalij enjoys the similar yet exotic musical taste Iraqis have developed.

Iraqi blues is what I like, Iraqi dance songs is what most seem to appreciate. Adel Mokhtar is bringing it all together on his 9 tracks album whish has just been released.

WATCH: Cyrine Abdel Nour - Habaybi {HOT}/ سيرين عبد النور - حبايبي

The Lebanese entertainer with the most perfect face, the cross talented actress, songstress and so much more Cyrine Abdel Nour is out with her new music video for the song that released few months ago about the loved on in her life. It's a happy song about those who make our life worth living.

The drama is present in the music video and the fancy shots make it a fairy-tale not your average music video. Cyrine brings out her good looks, energy and best positive outlook in life to make this song stand out--she really has not made a new song in years, so it makes since for the artist to go out for this song that hit it big.

I do not know where they filmed it--but my guess somewhere on the Mediterranean. The styles and fashion for the artist is another testament to her  high class taste.

The Khalij's Finest Chick Pop Import

Nihad aba Rudy is a young talent from the Gulf whose effort to make good music has not gone unnoticed, but she needs to do more. If you Google the artists, you should be ab;e to find their picture and their bio without having to work too hard.

I cannot even find a correct way to spell her in even in Arabic. She made a dazzling song for those who like to dance. She has the voice many young Lebanese songstress would like to copy. She can also boast about the exotic look she has.

As far as the lyrics are concerned, they are not that original. The music arrangement did its job keeping the song loud.

WATCH: Amr Diab - 30 Years of Success

Amr Diab is the one pop star from a different breed. Here's a video that chronicles his past success for the last 3 decades. Since he was a young man, how you wanted to be big times, and how he pulled it off. I love hte interview portion with the people who knew him back when he was a skinny guy who had a dream.

Amr Dian is Mr. untouchable. We can agree or disagree on his last two albums, but love him or hate him, he knows how to sell an album, a concert and promote products. He has not aged, and he looks ripped like hell, whatever he is doing he has been doing it very well. Egypt loves him along with them hundreds of millions around the world know and respect him.

Amr Diab did well for the musicians who work with him, but as for introducing new talents he has done little. Do you know any singers whom he has helped make it? No, but I know tend of musicians whose work with Amr Diab made them sexy. He is also a sharp dresser, he know his way around the camera--directors hate that, but he knows his business.

Throughout his career he is the pharmacy that we go to to cure some of our ills or preserve some of our joys. He is a dealer of whatever emotional state we are experiencing. There are other talents out there, but so far the only next Amr Diab is the one and the only Amr Diab who is about to released his final album with Rotana.

Malak El Nasser Gets Serious and Dramatic

How many Tattooed and bold young Jordanians songstresses do you know? Chances are not many, but Malak El Nasser is the only name that comes to mind. I have come to known her for her dance songs, she has at least four hits out there, cute dance songs really.

This time, she wants something different, dramatic songs with the blues and that's her new song for usher in 2013. Yalla Ya Habibi is a plea song, a cry for help asking the one who has been ignoring you to take your call. What a pity really!

Malak has ruffled some feathers with the censoring authority, but they might be too intimidate by her good looks and body type. I happen to really dig her style ever since she did that duet with Jad. That song was dope. The new music video is no different than the oen she made last year, in both she plays tourists walking around nice places. However  she is not singing for a man she loves, but for her own son who has been away from here

Amr Diab Crazy Hair Day Edition

I think it was 2003 when Amr Diab filmed a music video in London and we saw a whole new shade of crazy hair from Amr Diab. I know the press made fun of the hair and likened the pop star and kin of pop to a famous Egyptian actress that has a similar hair--they were right.

Amr Diab did not do the crazy hair ever since, but then last month he was in London celebrating with the UAE a day of friendship with the United Kingdom. He was seated next to David Beckham, the famed footballer and celebrity. But the one thing that stole the show the strange Amr Diab hair. His hair looks like its doing its own thing.

Was that braided hair and what's that object on his hair? A very stupid look really. I know Amr Diab doe snot shy away from new things, he is a fun person and a bankable hit-maker who now lives in Dubai. But the hair thing was a loser in my own conclusion as the press had a field day with it.

The Average Song For That Super Awesome Life Partner

People of the internet are loving this new single by new comer Zain Adel. This is a song about the life partner and how they make one of us feel. It's your typical pop song, a catchy beat with straightforward lyrics that we have heard in everyday life.

I think Zain is a cool guy with a sweet voice, his biggest fans won't be the seasoned listeners of the tough critics but rather the young and life loving souls. They have turned out for him and positively commented on his video in glee.

Zain can connect with those young people out there and make sure they are his fan base. Keep on mind Zain had a number of songs for Egypt (see here) and has asked people to support it at those times.

Funny Tamer Hosny Music Video On Cellular Etiquette

The trouble with Arabs is that one they talk too much and two, they interfere in one another's business. They just do not leave people alone. But in West, they seldom have people to talk to--so they hire a counselor  a therapist to hear them out. I think the right formula is somewhere in the middle. Judgement free listening and compassion.

Now, you are ready to watch the music video with Tamer Hosny who is having a little issue with his lady, she wants to know what and where he is. He wants his space it seems. So, they go to visit with their friends' home and spill the beans about their romance and woes. Tamer Hosny does most of the talking here, and his lady does not get to talk.

The issue is the way they talk to one another--her mobile phone is busy, she sends a message call me. He ignores her message. This is the phone tag issue most people in today's world know much about it. She is a bnit jealous think he is with other women--when he is at home taking a nap. Too bad, neither Tamer Hosny nor his lady are in high school. Tamer bores people to death with this tale.

I did enjoy the comic affects throughout the music video, this is a new technology and I find it works for this music video.

Sa'd Ramadan The New Romantic Kid On The Block

Saad Ramadan is a clever young singer with a lot of talent, he has no albums to his name, but he is a hit-maker in the traditional sense. He does singles and those singles do wonders to his fans. The guy put on a good show, and what's better than an incredibly handsome man who can carry a romantic song.

Look o further than his new single which is meant for the superstitious people of the Arab world. Arabs fear the evil eye and they blame all their troubles and woes on them. And this is why Saad Ramadan is talking about the evil eye that ruined their seemingly perfect life with tons of equally good looking friends  riches and an awesome villa.

I have come to learn Saad is no stuck up person and he has a great sense of humor--he often tells jokes on his Facebook page. I really believe in Saad, I think he is one classy young man whose style is made perfect for him. I hope he keeps going in those tough times for every Arab.

Her Name And Her Look Might Not Be, But She Is An Arab

There is a raising star in the skies of Lebanon's pop scene and she goes by the name Stephanie Fakih. You are allowed to wipe out that dumb look on your face as you try to figure out if her look is natural  She is. There's a saying where anyone who speaks Arabic is an Arab--even those with blues eyes. Fakih is a new pop personality and her young age--she is 21 shows a lot of promise and area for growth.

But this pop songstress is really one, she is Lebanese. Just look her her thick eyebrows, that's a giveaway for more Arab girls. Here's the kicker, she is the daughter of Lebanese expat who lived in Africa--where Stephanie was born. She just had a sold out concert in Morocco, filming a new music video in Tunisia, and has recorded a song for the King of Saudi Arabia. To top that she has already sang alongside the Lebanes super star Raghib Alama who seems to be a fan.

The Arab Idol Trio's New Classy Hit Song #كارمن سليمان , #دنيا_بطمة, #يوسف_عرفات - عظمة على عظمة

They are talented, and they are young. They won Arab Idol, and their names are Yousef Arfat, Dounya Batema, Carmin Suliman and they want to give us a history lesson on Arabic music and the figures who made it the thing we love--or hate.

They have a pan Arab list of names most Arabs know and resepct. This song has been in the works for close to six months, but it released few days ago. It has a fun feel, the young folks will love seing their celebrties, but the older ones will like the walking down the memory lane.

It's nice to see the three young artists come together for this song, I am certain the producers at MBC's music arm paid some serious cash toproduce this song and it has already been showered with Youtube love.
