Can Someone Please Help Diana Haddad Out!

I love to see some Diana Haddad, and I love to her her authentic voice doing the songs we love from her. She just had a streak of bad luck lately and she is far too talented to let her career tank. I know she is working on reviving her own career, she has gave us a good album more than a year ago. But it lacked the flavor. I am in love with her new single she released few months ago "Albi Wafi", or "My Heart Is Loyal", I thought seeing the old Diana Haddad back in action.

She has the loyal fan base, she is a huge draw in Dubai, and the Beirut. She is one of the few Arab entertainers who can call both those places home. She is a citizen in both of those countries and she has paid her dues. Furthermore, she  grew up in Kuwait, so she knows the lingo very well. Her album of 2011, tanked in terms of sales. Her business manager should not have a job in this business.

But, she needs to reflect on her career, she cannot just go back to her old ways, doing Khaliji songs that no one loves but most tolerate. She needs to reconnect with her her past and reconstruct her image. She has tried to venture into new territory like doing in Iraqi song last year in her album. Then she talked about doing a Moroccan track and a song for kids. But this sounds not like Diana Haddad, she is following other pop stars on a game she will lose.

Diana is doing too many things, I think the right thing for her to do is do an album with no song for the Gulf--just the same good old Egyptian and Lebanese songs. She is a star because of those songs, and she lead on those fronts. For the past five years, I have been watching Diana make one mistake after another, she needs to stop and call her old crew back. I am certain they love working with her.

She has not done any Bedouin style songs in five years, and no Egyptian songs for six years. She cannot do everything, she is talented but we only like one side of her and certainly not a mediocre children song. She needs a new music projects free of Gulf music, this album will sell and will bring sexy back

She does not need any household names and she should not talk about the project, make it a surprise for all of us. She is overexposed, there are many media outlets who love to talk to her. She should step back and record some new songs, and not talk about them, till she is reach out to them. Stick in Lebanon for a little bit, do not just travel there on business trip. Let the people inspire you let the dialect sink in. Trust me, the Gulf loves non Khaliji music, they will come around. She has already manged to get some of the wasted respect with her single "Albi Wafi"

WATCH: 2013 New Video Myriam Fares Kifak Enta - ميريام فارس كيفك إنت

The number one dancing Lebanese pop star let is all be seen with her most recent music video filmed on the roof of some Beirut apartment. It feels like a nostalgic music video form the sixties where women and men had different concepts for fashion and styles.

To be fair, this is a wonderful song, and a good music video. Why did they have to make it like a meat market though is the question. She is shaking her money maker and has help this time, and makeover works well for her and the Lebanese melody is clear.

This plays like a theater group, the makeup, the color mixing, and style designers will be in this business for some time. The song is no doubt classy, and feels like a throwback to the beloved Lebanese oldies who love so much. This song has a lasting affects, and feels like something old yet so fresh.

The last outfit seems like a creep fest please note the perfume endorsement. It's clear that Myriam Fares is facing a lot of competition so she had to work harder and smarter to stick out, and she did. In the past she had to worry about four other pop divas, now she has like a dozen who do similar styles, among them some ladies who can really entertain.

A Happy New Year Song For Arabs By Dolly Shahine

The Lebanese Brazilian pop songstress Dolly Shahine is about to usher in a new year. To ring in the year, Dolly Shahine has released a fun song for this occasion. I am impressed by the new single and Dolly sounds at her best in a really long time. She was made a star to do these kind of songs and she has delivered a song that will be around for some time.

I love the Arabic lyrics  not so much the English part, but I am certain Arabs who speak English will be heads over heels for it. She is wishing change to come, people to fall in love once again. Just have a little bit of fun and forget all the pain.I like the portion about her wish to see people breaking their fear from one another.

The Happy New Year as the song has been titled is rightfully.

Maya Diab Releases Some Racy Pictures With A Black Model And The World Freezes

The TV hostess, songstress and pop star Maya Diab is second to none in this crazed world of celebrity. Haifa Wehbe has been hogging the news with the release of her stellar music video. Maya Diab did not want the week to end without getting her name out there, so she took to Facebook and shared some pictures that came with no explanation. Creating confusion, and a lot of pissed off middle aged guys. I am the only one who remembers that sex tape by Kim and Rapper Ray J?

Mind you Maya is married, were those pictures part of a new music video? mind you some comments have been racist about the model who has a darker skin--keep on mind Maya is not the fairest pop diva of them all. Maya does not mind showing some legs, and short shorts. She knows what works for her, and she does what;s right for her. If you do not like her work--turn off the TV or whatever medium she is coming through to grab your innocent soul.

As now we know, the photos were taken during the making of Maya Diab's Video Clip "Shaklak Ma Btaaref Ana Min" photographer Charbel Bou Mansour. snagged them. Too bad, the release of the music video was so botched that not even half a million YouTube viewers saw the clip. The delay and the bizarre press ate the buzz the music video had. Plus no one has 8 minutes to watch a movie disguised as a music video for a mediocre pop song.

The issue with the negative comments stem from the man's inability to understand a woman except in terms of the only two roles he knows how to assign her: virgin or whore. But this song tells us that there is no room inside the mind of the this in this photo shoot for the notion that a woman might be a friend, a lover, or a partner. So Maya doing sexy might be too confusing for some people. I think people need to understand it all those antics in terms of money--the more pissed off people are, the richer she gets.

Would You Wear This Shatha Hassoun Outfit?

Shatha Hassoun knows a thing or two about fashion, she lives in Beirut  but works in Dubai, her hearts beats Iraq and her mind is always on Morocco. She makes good music and her online brand is one of the strongest among her peers. Her fans live all over the world and she often speaks to them via a number of media outlets.

She is often in Lebanon doing media interviews on A list shows, and in Beirut for concerts and events. She also records there. But I feel one of her most recent outfits feels little bit not her own. It looks like the sylist of Myriam Faris has finally got Shatha to wear his clothes. Fashion hits and misses are nothing new. You are a star and you wear something you think looks good one you...sometimes you are right and sometimes you are very wrong.

It's just a dress meant to cover your privates and make a statement. So no big deal, I have seen worse and a lot more revealing. Shatha is on her Turkey for a big project she is not talking about so far. From there she will head to Kuwait for a big wedding where she ha been hired to sing.

The Hypocritical People Of Khalij نفاق أهل الخليج

The Khalij or the Gulf is where millions of Arabs live, and those people happen to be the most affluent Arabs around the world. They tend to be generous people, hospitable and loving people. No one will ever take that away form them. But today I want to talk about something different. The perceptions of Khalij men and women of local female entertainers.

But first few observations--and please correct me if I am wrong.

  1. Khaliji men would pay top dollars to see an Arab star sing a song of their writing and of their music.
  2. Khaliji men entertainers can pretty much do whatever they want, they travel the world, they perform locally and abroad, no one puts restrictions on them.
  3. When Khaliji women sing, a number of things will happen:
    1. Critics will say she is not really local--she came from some other country.
    2. Haters will attack her family and cal them names.
    3. Pigs will insult the female entertainer by calling her things like "ugly", "Tomboy", and such.
  4. The people who usually wage those attacks are the same people who take vacation trips in pursuit of bodily pleasures to Thailand and other fun tourism
So it's OK for the Lebanese/Moroccan/Iraqi to sing a song for those men, but when a home girl does it, it's the end of their world as we know it. What does this say about the Lebanese songstress? While most of the hate comes form men, some women also jump on the wagon and speak ill of female performers.

It's like being a singer has become another name for being a prostitute. When in reality most of those performers take their music seriously. Women can be trusted to make the right call in life, they have been raised well and for starter, God gave them the free will.
But despite all that hate and attacks, some female voices mange to survive and make a career. There are many very gifted home grown singers who do wonders for the Gulf music scene  I shall name few from the new generation,
  1. Aseel Omran (Saudi Arabia), she acts and sings pop songs. Her voice offers planet of warmth.
  2. Shams (Kuwait), makes fresh music videos, and tells people I am form Mars--leave me alone.
  3. Hala Al Turk, (Bahrain), a little girl that has sold millions of records doing kid songs.
  4. Shamma Hamdan (UAE) surfed the most attacks when she appeared on Arabs Got Talent, for change a real musician.
  5. There are always Ahlam (UAE), Hind (Bahrain), Nawal (Kuwait) Rowaida Mahrouqi (UAE) and Waad (Saudi Arabia)
I do realize that there are enlighten people everywhere, but this should not be an issue, here's another fact for you. When you allow the fans to listen to music made by the ladies of the Gulf, they have loved them every time--just see the video below. So that might scare off some dudes.

The Orientalist Wet Dream Bulgarian Song

Being in some kind of desert, wearing some loose and bright clothes, dancing like a pro with Arabic alphabet creeping on the stage, tells me you know nothing of Arabs. But that should not stop you form making a good song. Dancing for this music video got all the right elements. I had no idea that people of Bulgaria cared for Arabic culture, but this music videos gives me hope.

This is a duet by two young and gorgeous Bulgarian songstresses. This is a song that sounds like the ones they came in places like Beirut and Dubai, the Bulgarian language does also feel a bit like the Arabic language for the untrained eye. The lyrics have a lot in common with Arabic songs lyrics  they might as well have been written by some lyricists from Egypt.

This is a music video by Petya Koleva Ivanova, best known by her stage name Preslava who is a Bulgarian pop-folk singer. She was born in Dobrich, Bulgaria. Preslava completed her musical education with the specialty ‘folk singing. She is the crown of Payner Music BG Stars. She was found for pop-folk music from Svilengrad's playboy - Milko Kalaidjiev. Preslava is from Dobrich and have studied singing there. Preslava had 4 albums created for Payner Music. Almost every songs from this snger becomes a hit. They made this singer a star from her debut. Some of her songs are: "Final words", "Bitter remembers".

As for Galena She was born in Smyadovo. She enrolled in music school in Shumen with folk singing. After 2 years she moved to a music school in Dimitrovgrad. 18 years old Galena made her debut video for the song "Can". On the fifth annual TV awards "Planet", in February 2007, Galena was awarded the prize "Miss Sexy 2006".

So, there you have it two great and talented ladies from the land of wonders take a shot at Arabic tradition and deliver a song to my surprise, Arabs would love. This is an ward winning young talents who seems to value other cultures, and for that she chose the Arabic culture  At first I thought this is some Hebrew attempt to claim another Arabic thing, but then I was wrong.

Preslava i Galena - Haide Otkaji Me.HDTVRip (Official Video)_-_by kibo_-_.mpg

Galena:
I'm walking on broken glasses
did i say that i would give up?!
I will prove u that i'm the woman
who deserves the most to be with u!

Preslava:
And i lived through your women
when u were losing,i was with u
When you were making mistakes,i didn't fear
did i say that i would stop?!

Do i have to stop?!I tasted you just one time
and the other tastes bitter, come on,make me give up
I tried to want some other (men),
but i want only you, make me give up
I tasted you just one time
and i don't wanna see nothing else, come on,make me give up
Try,but you won't make out
and no one could,no one didn't manage

Galena:
I've heard a curses for me
that i've swore your ex-es
And i was lying because of you and i was killing my soul

Preslava:
And i lived through your women
When you were losing,i was with you
When you were making mistakes,i didn't fear
Did i say that i would stop?!

Saudi Sex Symbol Tomy Omran Pressured To Give Up His Passport

Also read "A Saudi Shows His But, Saudi Arabic Freaks Out"

For a country that has a hard time with sexuality, a country where most of its people have to leave it to go on fun trips that involve so many acts they are unthinkable at home, the Kingdom has a funny way of telling people how to live their lives. Saudis would admit in private of their double standard and pi-polar attitude about sex and sexuality.

The American born Tomy Omran has had enough with the attacks and name calling from people living in Saudi Arabia where his family comes form. Tomy is very proud of his family, and his last name, but it seems people in Saudi Arabia have a limited understanding of what it means to be a Saudi. That means you can do fun stuff away form the camera and not on camera. It seems that a picture of Tomy's passport was leaked to the press where his name has the famous Al Saud last name--which makes him a royal in that kingdom.

His old man told him not to use his last name, so the California born young man who has shoe the Arab world by posing close to nude for a Greek beach magazine. He is now had enough and wants to give up the problematic side of him--he won't call himself Saudi anymore. So Saudi men can feel good about their reputation in the world as pious worshipers in public and party animals and first rate club goers in private.

He made the announcement on his tweeter account  @Tomyomran that he will be giving his citizenship for his own peace of mind. Tomy has been accused of being a foreign agent and spy whose mission is to destroy the conservative Saudi society's image. Rumor has it that one Saudi princess is among his biggest fans and supporting him to stir the debate on freedom and expression in the Kingdom. I think this might be the right call giving the lame attacks on Tomy. At least he is an American and they cannot harm him no matter how they try.

Tomy denies those connections and asserts that he is trying to give Saudi Arabia a makeover as more and more people talking about this former Saudi talent, he has gotten the world media to take notice of his provocative songs and choices.

Pictures: Layal Aboud New Year Concert

The Rotana signed Lebanese songstress had two concerts this new year, and both were in Beirut. The first was in a hotel and the second was in a posh restaurant. Here are the pictures of her New Year concert and the people who like the songstress.

She wore two different outfits and the outfits seem to have attracted some attention the wanted kind. Layal Aboud pays close attention to her style as well as her voice--you kind of have to. People who attended her concerts spoke volumes of her good manners. She took plenty of pictures and singe autographs  but she also fired up the concert goers and brought them to the dance floor.

Layal performed a collection of her most known songs like "Ya Ana Ya Ana". Layal had also released a song for kids, or at least the music video had lots of kids in it.

Rand Rostom Pop Music Meets Plastic

Rand Rostom is young, good looking pop songstress whose roots can be traced back to Palestine and Jordan. But she sounds like an Egyptian and looks like a Lebanese. Rand has yet to go mainstream, but her breakout song is a catchy hit. Not sure what it will take to bring this playful pop song to a bigger audience, but this song rocks your socks off.

Haifa Wahbe got nothing on Rand, Rand can also top Mai Hariri's famous looks. This is an independently funded song with a lot of indie feel, if we are talking pop, and only pop, I like Rand's character and style in this single. She is also considering getting into acting--Egypt is the place to look for acting gigs.

There has been a lot of talk about this new comer, a lot of people are intimidated by her sexy appeal. Her photos are all over the internet and might be shocking for some. You might glad to know Rand lives in Turkey at the moment. She plans to sing for Palestine, I hope she would focus on her pop songs before getting into some serious topics.

The Trashy Maya And Haifa Outfits This New Year

I do not mean to be a fashion critic, but I like to think I have an eye for outfits that I like. Sadly  two entertainers were not lucky with their choice of outfit for their respective new year parties. I think Maya Diab did not look good in that random outfit she sported at her concert. Maya is celebrating a new groundbreaking music video

It may have been a good outfit to wear but for someone else, not for someone with the structure of Maya's figure. And the same goes to Haifa Wehbe, who looks to shock especially after her recent divorce. Again, she let it all hang out of her dress. Revealing most of her attractions has always been a sure bet to generate attention, but not the good kind. As for her concert it was lively with dancers all the way form France and amazing computer affects.

On the other side, I was very pleased with Shatha Hassoun's dress selection  she looks really good in her elegant and classy choice. The Iraqi entertainer, did not want to show her body parts, she wore something that make her look desirable and not trashy. Maybe it was because she was in Dubai and the two pop divas with less than sexy outfits were partying in Lebanon.  Lebanese singing gem Yara also appeared on the same concert with Shatha and rocked the simple and dazzling red dress look.

I do not mean to pick on ladies, but most guys chose a suite for their appearances during their new year eve concerts.

Murex D'or Awards Should Go To Best Shoes Says Amal Hijazi

Lebanon's biggest entertainment awards are the Murex D'or are a huge deal for Arab and Lebanese entertainers  They throw a big gala too where rich people can mingle with stars who want to tell one another, "I am Better than You"

Amal Hijaz appeared on the popular TV show "Sorry Bas" where she did speak her mind about a number of things including the famed awards. Here's what she had to say, "Those awards should go to the best shoes and purses, most of those awards are paid for and I do not care much for them" I think she is right, it's all about big business buying awards and yes on the fashion shows those entertainers put on.

She also commented that she likes her home girl romance gem Elissa because she did not like fake people. Amal is not singing now because of her pregnancy and the matters going on in the Arab world, where people are dying. "This violence has to stop, we are all Arabs"

On Fadel Shaker, he is a big singer with a sensitive side who has made a lot of people happy. She also agreed that there is good art and bad art. I like Amal's honesty, it's refreshing.

WATCH The Epic Maya Diab - Shaklak Ma Btaaref / مايا دياب - شكلك ما بتعرف

This feels like a sci-fi flick, total recall meets i-Robot  with a hint of In Time, Maya Diab is the lady that has the power in her hands to take life away from any living thing. I must say the director has always wanted to make such a film and use so many computer effects. This time with Maya Diab and half a million dollar he was to see a portion of his dream come to life.

It's a futuristic picture with blips on the sky, and the feel of Cloud Atlas Said El Marouk sees his vision through, in a pop song with one of the most serious pop personality of 2012. Maya has finally come to announce herself as the one person that can steal your soul. She's got the power to make the world a better place. It takes money and time to bring a good picture and the director delayed this picture to make sure he is pleased with outcome.

If you have seen movies with female heroines like (Ultraviolet, and Aeon Flux) you will understand the final battle scene where Maya takes on half a dozen guards by dodging them while wearing high heels. Then she kicks their asses while looking sexy. Then she kicks in the door and frees her man from his prison. For change a lady saving the man not the other way around.

I think the English voice over affects makes it look and sound like a film trailer. Maya shaving her head is pretty new to the Arab world. The song starts with the Tattoo shot becomes a real shot of the starlet, who is looking good and I mean pop persona that's worthy of a global audience. I love the music for the song, it's pretty Arabic yet very upbeat. Like they have come up with a good and fresh melody that we have not heard before. As for the lyrics they are not the greatest.

The point is to make Maya a sex symbol, she does not disappoint and her seductive dance moves are telling of how far she is willing to go to eat the whole pop pie--not just a slice. There's plenty of action and a wonderful back story but the colors and the outfits along with the styles Maya brings out must have been time consuming. Keep on mind this was filmed in the city of Beirut and a lot of CG and green screen affects are to be expected.

Yara Doen's Want To Sing, She Sells Stuff Now

PIAGET just hired Lebanese singer Yara to be their front in the Middle East area. Yara has endorsed other companies in the past mostly jewelry and underwear. The last four news stories with Yara on them has been strange. In three of those stories, she wants to sell stuff and in one she was smoking in Ramadan in Algeria.

Yara stopped being herself nowadays, and she wants to college money. she has turned her good name and career into an ATM. She has not released anything new in ages now. But she always seems to finds time to shoot pictures for ads and what's not.

The endorsement deal was announced in Dubai in a press conference where the company's manger expressed excitement to work with Yara. Yara said she has always been a fan of the jewelry line of PIAGET, as she has bough some of their products before.

Once again, I think Fadel Shaker was right about something when he dubbed Yara as trash and someone who pursues money wherever she may finds it. There was once a good girl who made good music and brought joy into the lives of those who give her a chance. This time, it's all about Yara's pocketbook. No one hates money, but in few months Yara will be nothing more than a walking billboard.

Chic Lady's New Boutique in Abu Dhabi

Saudi Media is obsessed with the ladies. They just won't admit it in public. "Chic Lady" a new fashion store  boutique in Abu Dhabi where ladies design fashion for ladies to purchase. The Saudi publication Elaph was all over the store talking to them ladies about their fashion store. The spelling is Chic lady, not Sheikh lady.

Women can find conservative fashion that make them standout. The ladies that do the designing have felt tired of not finding the colors and the styles they love--so they went on to star their own fashion line where local and Arab fashion designers--including at least one gay Lebanese designer.

Wedding dresses take a special section in the store. Let's keep on mind, the Muslim mantra that says "Allah Loves Beauty" I think this is a great concept, local fashions are best product for the local people--they just have to be attractive and modern.

May Hariri's Sexy Legs Get A Music Video

Lebanese beauty Mai Hariri played it safe and tried to make us focus on her music and her voice, but that did not get her to where she needed to be. So the sexy mother stepped up her game in this image obsessed world we live in. She knows she has what it takes, so in her single new music video she owned it and showed those ladies how to be gorgeous.

For starter I love the new song of hers, it has all the right elements, the music is upbeat and all about the speed. I love driving to this car, it gives your heart a workout. And then Fulla, the Algerian delight does wonders with her verses. I think the English lines from the DJ serve a purpose keeping the song interesting to the club people.

Then we arrive at the music video, which tells me Mai is really smoking hot. She has always been, but not until this music video came out, you would not have noticed the whole lady hiding in there. Mai might get bad press from some jealous people, but she has done a transformation here. If this was a cry for attention, she certainly has done that.

The music video was filmed in Morocco.

WATCH: Spicy New Music Video By Elian Mahfouz إليان محفوظ - آه شو بحبو

Elian Mahfouz is sick of her man, so she is out on the seaport giving her love and attention to cool looking mannequin. At least, the word man is in mannequin. This is a surprisingly well made and entertaining much video that feels fresh. The lyrics are cute about a woman and her laundry list of what she wants in a man to love.

I have grown tired of so many cliche and dated music videos lately, but this one tells me about the hope in new and fresh ideas. Thanks to Fadi Haddad for his vision and direction. Elian makes watching the clip so much fun and she is looking the part--trust me. Elian knows the trade and has the confidence to pull off her colorful looks.

This music video made waves as they have chosen a garbage landfill in Beirut to film a portion of the clip. Elian has finally rocked the red dress look. I love the many looks we get to see and the mixing of the clip keeps things progressing in a good way. Together they have turned up the heat and mixed the Lebanese style with a more Western style.
