Listen: Star Academy Sara Farah New Dance Single اغنيه سارة فرح - بعز الظهر

Some parts of Syria are on fire, and some Syrians are hotter than smoke. Sara Farah is one of those people who are too hot to handle. She was the runner up two years ago for the title of Star Academy, I thought she was great, and as a Syrian she had all those authentic elements that make Syrian talents stand tall as they perform any song they chose to bring to light.

Her comeback is with an original song that reminds her fans that she is not going anywhere, her talent is something or a fresh take on dance songs. In fairness, she sounds like another young Syrian pop songstresses who also won a similar show few years before Sara.

One note, this is the radio version as the rights free songs has yet to be released. The promo picture is a bit sizzling for this time of the year. Sara is doing something new, the way to stay in the radar is to do something people do not expect you to do....she is pulling a chapter from the famous movie Basic Instinct and the leg crossing sexy chair. I like the lyrics, they allow for Sara to show her strength, and they keep her busy in the summer music festival season. The music is upbeat as hell and it's a cool summer breeze that this young lady's career needs.

Ali El Haggar Remains Egypt' Most Real Singer

He may as well be the Morgan Freeman of Egyptian entertainment. His voice has been telling the Egyptian narrative for more than three decades. He breaths Egypt and has pretty much performed in every venue in that country. He has ruled the radio airwaves, the cassette market and then the movie soundtracks and dozens of highly rated TV dramas.

It seems Ali is ready for more music as he has been signed by Pyramedia to produce music for him. His son is also signed for the same label for a music project as well.I know this when it comes to a mannly voice with a strong vocal showing, Ali is the name to come up.

See his song below where he does a romantic song with an incredible warmth and an Egyptian beat. El Haggar may have never been a bankable name but he has two things most two stars dream of. He has the respect for the audience and the businesses. And he has the name recognition that crosses age groups and countries.

Please Help Make The Talented Omar Kamal A Mega Pop Star

His name is Omar Kamal and he is the song of the Suez City, not the hottest place for music, but he found his way to music when he studied in Cairo music institute. His first work came in 2007 with a single. Two years later Omar released his debut album with 11 tracks "Hasib Ya Qalby" translating to something like "My Heart Be Careful"

Then he went on to releases singles and through the FM Stars radio, his music reached larger audience. In 2011 after the revolution happened he released a song where he saluted the people of Suez who played a key part when the protest turned violent. The song was well received by his home city and was a radio hit. Which brings us to his follow album that you can see here, and is it Golden?

I love Omar Kamal, he is young but he is very talented. He sounds like his very own version of beloved Egyptian star Mohammed Foaud. Think of some of his new songs in those terms, the song is about a man and a woman who are in love, and who sacrifice love for a higher purpose. This is immensely appealing.

Omar keep going, the more you know about how the album was made, the more you respect it. With little help Omar Kamal is breaking out on his own terms. He is in control  the way he manipulate his voice to fit the song's style and mood is not an everyday experiences. I have fallen in love with the duet with new comer Yasmeen Salah.

The entire album is available here on Omar's account. Note how his song for Suez incorporates el simsymyah, a folkloric music instrument popular in that part of Egypt. He makes me want to go visit--I have passed by it at least four times, but never had a reason to stop by.

Listen: The UAE Golden Boy New Single فايز السعيد - انت مين 2013

Fayez Al Said had two kind of songs, the one where he is cool and fun--we like. And the other one where he wants to be all serious, I have mixed feelings about it. What I do not have mixed feelings about is his true talent to make some of the finest and most original melodies.

He makes so many of them, and he does it so well. As a singer who just released an album few months ago, he has kept a busy schedule  he is also talking about a TV drama. But music from the Gulf does not tend to travel well, so we do not read many interviews with celebrities from there. Naturally, because they tend to be very private folk.

Fayez has a mega studio in Dubai where is has been turned into a cultural saloon. He has new single with a catchy title, "Who Might You Be?" He pleads with his loved one to let him in, because as clever as Fayz is, he cannot figure him love interest out. Not sure what the message here is, but I am certain the song will be airing in radios around Dubai and the Gulf for days to come.

The Arab Justin Timberlake Strikes Again--Wissam Hilal

"Last Goodbye" is the title of a new single from the super-talented pop sensation Wissam Hilal. The song is already getting a music video with director Robert Cremona and the track has been picked by a number of radios nationally and internationally on some of LA radios that BT entertainment taking care of and African and African-American radios.

The music video for his song was filmed in Beirut, his debut hit "Single" was filmed in Dubai where the artists is based yet he is on the move. What I like about Wissam how he sounds jut line one of the Jackson Five without coming across as he is imitating anyone. This explains the interest in his songs in places beyond the Arab World--try Kenya. It's a tough market, but his good work comes through and hits the mark.

Wissam Hilal is a naturally good looking guy who comes across as a charming person, and that is reflected into his songs allowing him to be a lot more personal and communicate different messages to his fans. To be frank, you listen to one of his songs when you are in a certain mood, then when your mood changes you still find something fresh about the second take.

The latest is Last Goodbye is a little darker than the breakout song, this is a plea from a man who lost something but tries to convince himself that by trying a little bit harder he can have this thing back. This mindset makes better songs, gets the most complicated of emotions to the listener's core. The new single is different a lot wiser than the previous track from Wissam.

The bad news is that the music industry needs a shot in the arm, but with little help Wissam was able to release great songs. I cannot wait to see what kind of hits he will be able to share with the world once the music industry figures itself out.

For the time being, non-Arabs in Dubai and the Arabs who like English songs are slowly embracing this very talented Arab Justin Timberlake! Wissam has the moves, the looks and the music savvy to entertain a global audience

As for the music video it should air internationally around May.

Arab Ladies Who Love Their Moms نايا / مى كساب

Sexy moms are out to get you with Naya! It seems that male pop stars are not the only singers who love their mothers, there are two more ladies joining them to celebrate motherhood on the day Arabs celebrate mothers--March 21.

Slow season, fast season, it's always a good time to celebrate the women who give birth to us, and nurture us. I like both songs, and I feel artists tend to give a better performance when they sing about something real to them--their moms.

In Lebanon Naya--Naya cannot seem to give up on sexy, but sang in studio. And from Egypt Mai Kassab sang--both chose their own mothers as a template

Download: Carole Samaha New Hit Album البوم كارول سماحة - احساس

If there is one pop star in the Arab world that takes her albums seriously, I would chose Lebanese diva Carole Samaha. There are many others who are serious about making music, but very few of them invest in their music, most of them find someone else to pay for their songs. Carole goes her own path, hires the best names and tells them to be serious.

She gives her finest performances in the new album, with 13 tracks that come in different styles. She has written at least song songs in the album herself. She has traveled far and close to ensure her album is all her. She got Rotana to distribute her album--they really worked hard to ear her trust.

I have so far heard three songs, and boy are we in for a treat! This is one super ride, like a curated tour in world music with special focus on Arabic styles from the past. Salim Assaf worked on it, and so has Marwan Khoury and the golden touches of music producer Michael Fadel do show. Go to iTunes, and get yourself a copy--when made available. It should release on the 13th of this month 13 after 2013 and 13 tracks. She is unafraid of bad luck.

Smooth and bold is this album.

The United Egyptian People's Song حميد الشاعري وعلاء عبد الخالق ومصطفى شوقي -انا مصر

The trip of Hamid El Shari, Moustafa Shawki, and Ala Abed El Khalik stole this month of March with the release of their new song, about the united people. They celebrate everything that brings them together and not worry about the things that pull them apart.

A sweet vocal treat from three guys whose voices we have grown enjoying. Hamid is the man behind this song, but the three performers rally around, we all worship differently, but the homeland is all ours. I wish the politicians would listen to this song and apply it in their work.

The music video makes it out and we get to see the best places and best things about Egypt, the song itself reminds us why this place matters. A serious song from three patriots comes in the right time.

Listen: Carole Samaha - Wahshani Baladi / كارول سماحة - وحشاني بلادي

And the first teaser from her upcoming album keeps me guessing  how awesome this upcoming album from Lebanese songstress Carole Samah be? The options are limitless, this is a woman that likes her work. She is very educated about her craft and shops the world for good music and fine styles to adapt into her work.

The soon to be released album is promising to be something that good, I have always been a fan of her work, and her style. She is one of this voices that can sing, yet she does not act like a diva the world owes her something--she perfects her music and keeps her fans and foes interested in her next move. Like her musical which will be playing soon near you--she will dazzle in this big production--The Lady.

In the mean time, her teaser for the upcoming song about missing the motherland, being with loved ones, and the music belongs to the old school style-she sounds coming from her time machine where she went snagged this song and brought it back to the future. The topic is dear to far too many of us, a love story cross borders..the kind the brings home every time. The Rotana people will be busy for some time playing her upcoming music and music videos.

Ms. Samaha, you go lady....you make the music scene far more interesting by adding your worthy voice to the roaster.

Listen: Amanda - Mosta7il 2013 / أماندا - مستحيل

There's an up and coming Lebanese songstress with the name Amanda and she just released a new single--her debut. Radios in Lebanon picked up the song and the music seems to have agreed with what's hip in club mixes. The success prompted Amanda to talk about releasing a new music video.

The thing about this song, it's a good package the loud music overshadow the lyrics  so they do not have to be perfect, just good. And this is the story of all those Euro style electric/funk music. Amanda has another thing going for her she has the textbook mermaid look of fantasies.

This is a good star, I am sure she will get better as she moves forward....Amanda welcome the entertainment industry. Her song is titled "Impossible", like having a thriving career at the moment.

Listen: Nassif Zeytoun "Larmik Bbalach" ناصيف زيتون - لارميك ببلاش - 2013

Ouch, this is the song you can play as you walk away from a relationship that's not working. Thanks to Nassif Zeytoun, the dude hit-maker and Star Academy winner brings it all out with his new slick song. A breakup song that we needed...I love the line

"I Won't Sell you (as give up on you), I will give you away for free" This charming young and talented Syrian has a new image to sell and I love that tattoos with various Arabic words on his left arm. I am certain, some may hear is like a breakup song with president Bashar Al Assad, but it's what it is. A good breakup song made just right.

فليم الحفلة - كليب محمود الحسيني جو تو هيل Listen To This Garbage "Go To Hell" 2013

It sucks to be an Arab looking for original songs nowadays. It seems the movie makers of Egypt have one formula to get their movies sold. Shock the hell out of your movie goers, so they will talk about the movie. Now, they want the promo song to do just that.

Nakes ladies do not cut it anymore, so they bring a guy who sounds like a donkey and give him a one line song "Go To Hell" is that line. A song about Facebook, people who change their names to sounds more hip and those who claim to be from better areas. The song is being used to market the film to folks who do not usually have a TV set, so the radio will pick this song up.

This is fake times we live in, a noise has been captured for a little over a minute and called a new song, where the like singer screams for that time. To hell is where the movie producer and director will certainly go, not because they are artists but because the are anti-art.

The song will air instead of the trailer on those cheap low budget music networks, who are looking for free stuff.

Listen: Latifa New Single اغنية لطيفة - أسمر | جديد 2013

Rookies are not the only ones making songs in Khaliji songs, but other more seasoned entertainers are joining the ranks. Tunisian songstress and icon is out with a radio version of her new single. A song where she is singing to the tanned colored boy toy.

Latifa's heart is in the right place. I know for sure Palestine, Iraq, Syria and Egypt are on her mind. She has always been a proud Tunisian, but it seems she has no plans to go home anytime soon. I know she continues to make media appearances and interviews. She is an icon who has many hits throughout her career. Trouble is, the last good song she recorded was about five years ago.

Latifa has her fans, I was once, I am waiting for her to dazzle me once again. Her new single did not have people like me on her mind when she recorded this random mediocre song.

Rabih Agha Joins The Hamid El Shari Cult

Rabih Agha wanted to celebrate one of his favorite music legends, so he dedicated a song for his male crush. Hamid is a talent maker of Egyptian pop, for over 3 decades and he has been shaping the music industry  He is not done yet, his radio station and production company carry on the legacy by introducing new music talent to the masses.

I take issue with the song because, the moment any person thinks they have made it, they start falling down. I think Hamid El Shari has few more years to go, so this song should be played at his retirement get together and not his birthday party. Arab stars really appreciate their music arranger, or known here as the music producer. Those folks have the golden touches and can make a song sink or fly. Hamid was a pioneer in this industry no doubt.

Rabih is a young Lebanese artist who is in search for a big break. He is form a small town and his first public performance was at a friend's wedding when he was asked to sing...he did and he made people happy. He started doing local weddings, radio interviews and such at a young age. He went on to befriend Fadel Shaker and years later he studied music at a high institute.

Legendary Melhem Barakat Stands In Solidarity With Assad Of Syria

In an interview with Jaras Scope radio, the popular and colorful Lebanese composer and singer Melhem Barakat has this to say about the situation in Syria:

I am sad to see the situation in Syria, I am with the Syrian people and the regime, this murder has to stop. The politicians and leaders of Lebanon need to stand next to Bashar Al Assad to resolve those crisis. Because what happens in Syria will have a negative impact on Lebanon. Melhem Added that the Free Syrian Army had put on the black list due to his stands. Melhem also condemned those politicians who call for disarming the resistance in Lebanon when they are failing to get Israel to pledge never to attack Lebanon. According the composer, no one can disarm the arm, not the UN and not the international community.

The comopser promised to release more songs, he has more than 30 tracks ready to be released, he has not given us a new song in more than seven years. Melhem has also attacked those Lebanese singers who sing in other dialects. He considers himself one of the proctors of the Lebanese song heritage.

Listen: Nader Al Atat New Single نادر الاتات: من بعد ما توبك بستو

Nader Al Atat has been trying to get a hit song of his own. I think he might have just arrived with the help of the resourceful composer and song writer Salim Assaf. A passionate romantic song who is ready to take the relationship to the next level despite all hiccups.

I love how warm Nader's voice sounds. He sounds extra sweet, right in that sweet spot. If I am Ayman Zabib, I would be worried. This is a new singer that has all the right notes and pitches to make vulnerable yet passionate romantic songs.

The song does something that has never been done before. A guy in fire waiting for his loved one to be pregnant with his kids. Some parts of the song are about more in the bedroom stuff, I have kissed your dress and guarded your mouth. Thus, this song is sensual with a creamy feel to it.

I feel this song will appeal more to women and to sensitive guys who are good in heart. Nader stands out now and I know the airwaves in Lebanon will be his for some time.

Listen and Learn: Wael Jassar 2012 Single اغنية وائل جسار - الله على الحب | جديد

So you think you can romance? Think again! Wael Jassar is back in action. He has a new single out! I am loving it. Wael sounds like her knows a thing or two about that real love, the everlasting one. He is celebrating love ad his love one. The kind of love that makes your heart wants to dance.

Wael Jassar is making his way to be one of the biggest names in romantic song, the sobering kind, that both men and women have come to love. If I am to make a lit of the greatest love songs for the past five years, Wael would have the lion's share. His latest single is meant to be a celebration of love, not the people who give it a bad name.

There are a great many songs that might make the list before these. But Wael Jassar's songs seeks to provide a unique angle on romantic love. There are some songs here that may even inspire scoffing, but I remind you, these songs are not so much about musical genius, as they are about lyrical insight. He picks winners, he lives those winning songs and the hits the recording studio.

Unlike many others, ale does not have to do retail songs, the ones where he sings in Egyptian or Lebanese  His songs are warmly received by Arabs across dialects. He is a wholesaler of love.

Listen: Cyrine Abdel Nour 2012 Single جديد | اغنية سيرين عبد النور - حبايبى

Cyrine Abdel Nour has invaded four industries--she is an award wining model, an award winning songstress,   an award winning actress, and one hell of a product endorser. So, Cyrine Abdel Nour is a wholesome entertainer and family woman. She has sounded more dreamy and romantic in the past, but this time she is going for happy and life loving.

She is Miss class on top of glamour. God knows, she does not need to work, she has a lifetime celebrity status. She just needs to stare into the camera, and people will pay her to see that. But she ain't taking a break or slowing down, she has a new hot single out, and it's about her loved ones.

"Habybi" is an Egyptian song with the touches of masters like Tarke Madkour who arranged the music, the lyrics are the works of posh poet Bahaa Aldeen Mohamed. The music has been imagined by Ahmed Salah Hosny. Together that has brought to light a  platonic song about people we like in our life, the people that love us no matter what. It's a happy song and has caught fire on Lebanese radio. The time of the song is engineered to be close to holidays and new year concert deals. She is an accomplished songstress and she could use couple of good and well paid gigs.

As for her looks, Cyrine Abdel Nour has a team of people making sure she looks her best at any given minute. She pulls it off so well and so naturally. I won't be surprised if some women do not have a secret crush on her. I know the guys are heads over heels.

Aseel Omran, The Boldest Woman In Saudi Arabia

Aseel Omran gets most things, she has secured an understanding husband to stand next to her as she pursues a career in entertainment. She needs this to survive the pursues of conservative society notorious for double standards. She is an all-Saudi talent, she took a break form singing and acted for two years, now she is ready for a reboot of her music career.

She released a new single, the lyrics of a poet from the United Arab Emirates, recorded there and released on a number of radios in that country and the gulf region. Aseel released an album early last year and at the moment she has a role in a Bahrain play where she also gets to sing.

I like the dancey feel the song has, yet the lyrics are so sweet, making the song very proper for the kind of songs Aseel feels comfortable performing. The romantic poetry keeps the song appealing to the Khalij who loves imagery. So the show goes on, no matter what those conservatives and self righteous may say.

Listen: Anwar El Amir "Love And Other Drugs" Songs

I do not understand a confused song, the song that cannot makeup its mind about what style it goes under. Take the new song by one of Lebanon's most popular local boys Anwar El Amir whose new song is about doing drugs.

But unlike the chemical stuff, this time love is his drug of choice. He is hooked on this girl whom he likens to drugs in his veins. Those songs have already been made in English many times, love is a drug and science has spoke on that subject.

Anwar made a sweet song that will make him a hit with the ladies, he is already the man with all the boys who like his style and his manly songs. The song has already generated some buzz in Lebanon over its radios.
