Fayrouz, or Fairouz the one and only Lebanese diva that has reached the highest level of respect, love and fandom in Arabia. She is the voice of Lebanon that can never been silent. But she is also an Arab voice, she is proud of it and lets people know it. She maintains that she only sings for the people not kings and presidents.
Enough said about this voice, we cannot add anything to her long career that reaches to 50 years where she was in the center of the best of Arabic music. the music that brought together the folksy tales and put it to a sophisticated music fans. For the first time Arab peasants in small villages can enjoy the same music the rich affluent city dwellers. This is the secret to her success and her fame.
There is no bad Fayrouz song, there is only good Fayrouz song and a great one. As we saw from her 2010 album where every song was a treat. So you know every time you set in a chair and play Fairouz does not disappoint. She is still doing limited concerts and tickets to such concerts are a much coveted commodity. We have also to give a shout out to her son and her late husband and the entire Rahbani family for polishing Arabic music and entertaining us for decades.
