Nostalgic To Mohammed Al Mazem Best Songs
It was the late 90s and early 00s that we have seen a new star born out of the United Arab Emirates bringing us that kind of light pop that has been missing in Arab Gulf some some years. Then he was making songs that was picked up by pan Arab TV networks. For a brief moment of time he was the talk of town. He did it prior to the social media and the Facebook folks.
Can you name the breakout song for Almazem? look below and you will tell. Yes, it was the hit song and it was included in every mix album for about two years from the release date. That song of his brought the funk and cool back. But he did not stop there, a year later, he had another catchy hit in Tikram Einak (also below)
In his formative years, it was all about the youths, trendy and colorful fashion, scores of backup dancers and Almazem and his gal. Later he toned it down and opted for romantic stories with only two people and not many dancers if any at all.
That's the story of I think now retired former singer Mohammed Al Mazen, the handsome romantic yet cool singer that rocked the boat. He made his fame in the radio era's last hurrah and then he just called it quits. Here's his formula, stick your accent do not try to do another dialect, but when it comes to the music, get creative and don't try too hard.
His last music video of his took a new direction, he was promoting the Muslim head cover--Hijab. I like the song, but I think it's weird for a guy to be telling women what to wear and not to wear. I would rather have a woman make that call not a dude--what does he know about it?
