"3rd Sunday" Men's Day (Question) Can You Be A Christian And A Member Of A Fraternity/Soroity?

I think you can. If you are firm in your beliefs, pledging into and organization should not change that. It is important to remember that fraternities and sororities are just like any other organization. They can be used for corrupt means like some churches can be. There are weak-minded people in all organization in which there organization becomes there god. In the Black Church fraternities and sororities are service organization founded on Christian principles. I think that is why the talk was that Dr. King was not a Christian because of his involvement in a fraternity. What do you think about Christian pledging to these organizations (Mason, Kappa Alpha Psi, Omega Psi Phi, ect....)Can you be a Christian?

"Friday" (Grace & Mercy) Question? Why do we still need Hymns in churchs today?

Because hymns opens our eyes to see Jesus for who He really is. Hymns are wonderful for doing this. Because of the longing to experience God our churches today long for an experience with God, and hymns are some of the richest expression of Christian experience we have. They are a doorway into sensing the truth in our hearts rather than just "knowing" it in our heads. Hymns help us grow up, hymns teach us the rich theology we really need. If we have a limited view of who God is and what the gospel is our experience of it will be limited as well. We link the gospel and it needs to be beat into our heads over and over again! Hymns really stretch us. Hymns are min meditations on the paradoxes of the Gospel that drive us to Jesus. What do you think do we still need hymns in the Church today?
