It's a smooth rap song about the role of genders in one man's life. It's a complex subject and rappers have historically have no been the greatest to talk about women.
Eve, is the title of this song. I like the Ayzee he brings something fresh and something more R&B to the track. This is a good single from a guy whose roots are well known but also knows the role of women should be strengthened. The UAE native poet and Sheikha Fatima Bint Rashid Bint Said Al Maktoom (commonly known as Ghayahib الشيخه فاطمة بنت راشد ال مكتوم غياهيب) wrote a poem for the Saudi legend.

Dubai Film Festival saw the screening of a new Saudi film that has competed and won in Europe At the Venice Film Festival. A Saudi film with the title "Wajdah" is the talk of town now. The director has made shorts before but this is her first full feature that has been filmed entirely inside the Kingdom.
The director Haifa Al Mansour who wrote and directed the film--she has also acted in the past. This is a movie to celebrate and learn from--you really cannot limit the human spirit. Saudi Arabia is a conservative society that has shun entertainment--especially the one where females appear. The Sundance Film Institute has supported the film and the director and helped them get into more festivals.
The movie has German producers, making it the first Khaliji--Gulf film brought by a cultural collaboration between Europe and the Gulf region.
Alaa Wardi, the dude who looks like an orthodox Muslim, but rocks like super star on an energy drink. Alaa has moved form the viral video screen to the live concert venue where droves of fans cheer him on as he does his thing.
He now plays the guitar on stage as he performs one of his better known songs. He also plays a big screen of him making varies musical instruments and beats. He keeps a busy program and he joins other rock stars who hold similar events in Jordan and Beirut.
Not sure what will be the net step for Alaa, but he has held firmly unto his fan base. The toxic political mode across the Arab world makes it hard for entertainers to perform in public or yet make much money.

I think X factor is getting to narrow their list of talented names. They are ready to show off their finest voices and show off. One of those is a guy with the name Ibrahim, he is Libyan and he is ready to make them proud--I like him. He makes good choices and shows a level of maturity when doing cover songs. He might be going home, Elissa and Wael were unkind to him. Hussein and Carole were supportive. He was hurt becasue Libya could not vote due to their issues with telecommunication.

They do rap, and each come with a story they have gone far with the Western bloc of the Arab world. They are all about energy and joy. They are fun to see them live, their fusion works to their advantage. I believe they are Tunisian. They took a challenge and turned a Lebanese dance song to their own style. Tunisians have to be really good to make it out and thoe guys are no different, they hit all the right notes.

Shatha Hassoun renews her contracts with Saudi Rotana and expresses her love and admiration for the company and what it does. Shatha was pleased with the level of response she had for her debut album with the company. Rotana is pleased to be in the Hassoun business, she has shown herself as one of the most prolific names in pop music.
One of the most exciting voices in the Gulf belongs to Mansour Zayd from the United Arab Emirates. The company has produced her debut album and the young artists was impressed by the level of support his album has gotten. The new contract is singed and statements of mutual understanding and appreciation has been made. Mansour is working on his big album and has already worked with a dozen of artists.
He might be one of the Khalij--Gulf my all time favorite stars. He is a rock star in my book, and he almost never ever speaks to the press. He is the voice most people of Saudi Arabia--even those who do listen to music love him.
Simply put he is Rashed Al Majid, the voice that won us over when he wanted to do pop music a decade ago. But now he gives us something else, romantic songs are his shtick. He is also the richest star, and has a while fleet of the fanciest cars.
Now, let's check out his new promo for the album that I will be listening to for ages, We have 22 sample of the promo. While he does have his own production company, he is happy to let them work with other lables to bring his music to more places.
I have come to appreciate the poetry of his words, his upbeat music and most of all the wise language he uses. He sounds like a gentleman making music for other sophisticated people. He is almost never mad, just either giddy or jaded.

The coolest and happiest Saudi strikes again, and he returns with a new teaser for an upcoming music video for his hit song "Shelmatloub" It's all about looking hip, sounding happy and dancing your bum off in the world of Saudi pop star Rakan.
He is the youngest and perhaps the freshest music video star in the conservative kingdom It's no surprise that most of his music videos are filmed in Dubai. The teaser is rue to spread joy everywhere it goes. I love the urban and graffiti rich music video. The cool drums and the dancers all over the music video.
As for the outfits, they may have been purchased from some mall in downtown Philadelphia. This is how trendy kids in the Gulf are, and they only wear the best brands. Rakan is rocking the Arab fro look and he seems to have survived all the critics.
Saudi Singer Abdel Majeed Abdallah is not the one to talk about himself to the masses. He is a shy artist and a Saudi which makes him bad at talking about himself. But the man makes good music and his fans and the industry knows this.
I wish he was a bit more engaged by releasing more songs, but it seems singles from him come once a year and land as a surprise. He has a fresh songs out there and the music is so beautiful as it is authentic. Enjoy this single and its distinctly classical Arabic with poetic justice.

The Khalij or the Gulf is where millions of Arabs live, and those people happen to be the most affluent Arabs around the world. They tend to be generous people, hospitable and loving people. No one will ever take that away form them. But today I want to talk about something different. The perceptions of Khalij men and women of local female entertainers.
But first few observations--and please correct me if I am wrong.
Khaliji men would pay top dollars to see an Arab star sing a song of their writing and of their music.
Khaliji men entertainers can pretty much do whatever they want, they travel the world, they perform locally and abroad, no one puts restrictions on them.
When Khaliji women sing, a number of things will happen:
Critics will say she is not really local--she came from some other country.
Haters will attack her family and cal them names.
Pigs will insult the female entertainer by calling her things like "ugly", "Tomboy", and such.
The people who usually wage those attacks are the same people who take vacation trips in pursuit of bodily pleasures to Thailand and other fun tourism
So it's OK for the Lebanese/Moroccan/Iraqi to sing a song for those men, but when a home girl does it, it's the end of their world as we know it. What does this say about the Lebanese songstress? While most of the hate comes form men, some women also jump on the wagon and speak ill of female performers.
It's like being a singer has become another name for being a prostitute. When in reality most of those performers take their music seriously. Women can be trusted to make the right call in life, they have been raised well and for starter, God gave them the free will.
But despite all that hate and attacks, some female voices mange to survive and make a career. There are many very gifted home grown singers who do wonders for the Gulf music scene I shall name few from the new generation,
Aseel Omran (Saudi Arabia), she acts and sings pop songs. Her voice offers planet of warmth.
Shams (Kuwait), makes fresh music videos, and tells people I am form Mars--leave me alone.
Hala Al Turk, (Bahrain), a little girl that has sold millions of records doing kid songs.
Shamma Hamdan (UAE) surfed the most attacks when she appeared on Arabs Got Talent, for change a real musician.
There are always Ahlam (UAE), Hind (Bahrain), Nawal (Kuwait) Rowaida Mahrouqi (UAE) and Waad (Saudi Arabia)
I do realize that there are enlighten people everywhere, but this should not be an issue, here's another fact for you. When you allow the fans to listen to music made by the ladies of the Gulf, they have loved them every time--just see the video below. So that might scare off some dudes.
Saudi Alaa Wardi is out with a new cover song where a cappella meets the beat box. Alaa is his very own singing group but this tme he brings a similar minded artists who takes care of the vocals as Alaa handles the music so beautifully with his mouth.
Alaa has made so many incredible videos, and he has done so well himself where he performed in indie concerts with other young artists. He shot to fame when he did an amazing cover by one of Nancy Ajram's best songs of 2010. Released few more followup but the new Asala Nasri is his serious effort to stage a viral comeback.
Sultan Jameel does an amazing job with this share of the, they both sport the Saudi style outfits and it goes well with the Gulf dialect song.

Citizens of the world do not equate Saudi Arabia for being the patron of art, to the contrary, they have a reputation for limiting freedom of expression in that land. But know this, the biggest Arabic music producer, promoter and marketer is Saudi Rotana. the biggest Arab TV networks are based in Saudi Arabia or funded by the Saudis.
In fairness, Saudis do these things away form home, in an effort not to offend the most religious and conservative elements in that country.--Lebanon and Egypt is where most of their work ends up being filmed and recorded.
for for the first time in their recent history, Saudi Arabia had an event where they have honored a dozen of Arab entertainers from TV and from the music scene. The organizers said in their remarks "We have a routine in Saudi Arabia, and we want to overcome that". The organizers boasted about producing 18 dramas last year. The city of Jaddah was the home of this event--at some hotel. Natacha the young and bubbly pop singer was the face of the festival.
I first thought the people would be in attendance are just men. But then pictures do not lie, see for yourself, the new Saudi Arabia? The event was organized under the foresight of prince Mohamed Bin Naser Al Sud, and the panel of judges was all Saudis.
I love the music for this new song, it's very classy and reminds us of the fine Arabic compositions that no body is making right no. Lebanese singer Zein Chaker is out with a new song for the Saudi Prince Al Waleed, the mogul and business man who also owns Rotana entertainment network
Prince Al Waleed can be seen cool and a fun person, he is a different kind of leader in Saudi Arabia and the world sort of adores him. Chaker's last song was about someone who used to be a guy, and his followup song is a flattery song for the Saudi prince. I must be a fan of the prince because he was the inspiration for this song that feels authentic.
He composed the song on top of writing the lyrics. The artists seems to admire the prince and call him noble king not a mere human. "Because He deserves it" is how Chaker replied to the prince inquiries. I respect this song if it came from the heart. It's an old habit where the old Arabs would shower those who compliment them, tell tales about them with gifts, and rewards.
The grand Saudi Artist just released a splendid mini album of two songs. We are talking about two full length songs that have been turned from poets pieces into a pop art. This is how Saudi artists Mohamed Abdo does it, he is the artist of the kings and royals. Plus his must is produced by a Saudi label-owned by a real wealthy prince.
That means, he has never to worry about money. He has always made good music, though some of this music traveled well outside the Gulf region where he is a constant hit-maker. This album has two lengthy songs, and this is all what folks need from him. This albums seems to be a reaction to the reports of his death--there are so many of them.
The title song comes with the title "The Night has cried", sounds like the perfect motto for those recovering lonely hearts. It comes with classy Arabic music, and beautifully written lyrics. Abdo sounds a lot wiser from an experience that has given him so much pain.

For a country that has a hard time with sexuality, a country where most of its people have to leave it to go on fun trips that involve so many acts they are unthinkable at home, the Kingdom has a funny way of telling people how to live their lives. Saudis would admit in private of their double standard and pi-polar attitude about sex and sexuality.
The American born Tomy Omran has had enough with the attacks and name calling from people living in Saudi Arabia where his family comes form. Tomy is very proud of his family, and his last name, but it seems people in Saudi Arabia have a limited understanding of what it means to be a Saudi. That means you can do fun stuff away form the camera and not on camera. It seems that a picture of Tomy's passport was leaked to the press where his name has the famous Al Saud last name--which makes him a royal in that kingdom.
His old man told him not to use his last name, so the California born young man who has shoe the Arab world by posing close to nude for a Greek beach magazine. He is now had enough and wants to give up the problematic side of him--he won't call himself Saudi anymore. So Saudi men can feel good about their reputation in the world as pious worshipers in public and party animals and first rate club goers in private.
He made the announcement on his tweeter account @Tomyomran that he will be giving his citizenship for his own peace of mind. Tomy has been accused of being a foreign agent and spy whose mission is to destroy the conservative Saudi society's image. Rumor has it that one Saudi princess is among his biggest fans and supporting him to stir the debate on freedom and expression in the Kingdom. I think this might be the right call giving the lame attacks on Tomy. At least he is an American and they cannot harm him no matter how they try.
Tomy denies those connections and asserts that he is trying to give Saudi Arabia a makeover as more and more people talking about this former Saudi talent, he has gotten the world media to take notice of his provocative songs and choices.
In the West, feminist s have golden rule, if women were to be naked or almost naked on camera, the guys have to be nude too. Thus, it's not fair to have the woman be naked and the guys around her all dressed up. This is to ensure that women are not a commodity for the entertainment of males out there. I think I like this simple rule. It ensures that women get to do whatever they want to do and guards against abuse.
Now, think about Arabia, we sort of do not have this rule, women entertainers are expected to show some skin on the beach, poolside, and bedrooms, but her male peers are fully clothes. I am not happy about that. It's certainly not perfect in the West, but the above rule does help put things in the right cultural frame.
Zoom in to a Lebanese celebrity who has been known for selling various body parts of hers for the highest bidder. While she tires to be all innocent and cute about it, the internet has noticed Myraim Faris overdoes it. YouTube is filled with videos of various stunts for this pop star. She is certainly withing her right here, and those who criticize her in public tend to be the same ones who admire her and lust over her in private.
Same conservative voices in places like the Gulf pay her top dollars for concerts and private events, preach virtue during the daylight. While there are some chauvinistic voices out there, Myraim certainly keeps on fueling her critics. While she is a sex symbol for many out there, she is milking her good looks for all their worth.
Watch the clip below and judge for yourself, are those pictures suitable for families that are supposedly lives in a conservative society. There's a place for such dances and place for family entertainment--Myraim Faris is taking her audience--all of them the strip club. Sure, let's try to switch the channel--expect, she is on more than one network and doing ads nowadays.
I have always known this, even though I watch neither of those Arabic music stations. Rotana has the biggest resources and biggest issues yet, they are running third to music networks that have little resources. A Lebanese entertainment website, took a survey among its readers.....which Arabic channel/ network leads in airing music videos.
Arabica came first--they have stars of many Arabic countries and they seem to make them happy and to be drama free. They also have Nancy Ajram too, so the are leading the pack in new material and music videos. Arabica is based in Beirut but has many divisions through the Arab world. Melody Hits came second, the Egypt based company is a pioneer in this game, and they may have been number one had it not for the ongoing events in Egypt. Melody airs any music videos you send them, and they produce music videos too as well as movies.
Then comes the biggest disappoint of them all, Rotana, only 20 percent of the survey takers, think much of them. These Saudi music moguls have issues figuring out the music model from their fancy Saudi Arabia offices and posh Beirut cafe. They need to revamp their efforts and be nicer to the artists on their label. Rotana gets the biggest names who wan the biggest dollars, but they seem to be lazy. Only the young and energized voices make music videos the legends are not going to help you.
I want to help Rotana grow, I think their online brand needs to be beefed up a little bit. They can make all the money they want, but if people do not know them on the internet, they will hardly make any profits. Fire all those greedy and lazy entertainers, get a new line where you bring in the new talents who want o work for their dollars. Rotana cannot be a retirement home for most of those names with legacy--they too need to work
The most serious singer and safest bankable Khaliji singer Rashid Al Majid is out with a new song about the new year. The year he has spent with his new love and he wants to enjoy the time with her. It's a poem and he knocks that one out the park.
I love Rashid and know he can afford to chose the finest songs. He gets a butt load of poets lining up for him to pick their songs--he only chose the ones he feels.
