"Thakful Thursday" (Question) Why Are We Killing Our Selves Over This?

The number of overweight adults and children in the United States is increasing at an alarming rate.the term for more obesity has been described as a “global epidemic” by the World Health Organization, and studies find that over 60 percent of American adults are over weight or obese. At particularly high risk are black American women. The American Heart Association estimates that approximately 77 percent of black American adult females are either overweight or obese.

Being extremely overweight or obese dramatically increases the risk of diabetes ('A condition in which the body\'s cells are less responsive to insulin. This causes more insulin to be released by the pancreas, resulting in too much insulin circulating in the blood. Moderate weight loss and increased physical activity can help type 2 diabetes. There are two components of metabolic syndrome which also includes high blood pressure and abnormal Studies find that black American women are 60 percent more likely to have metabolic syndrome than black American men. The syndrome, in turn, can lead to complications from diabetes (such as blindness or nerve problems) and heart attacks. Black Americans also face a greater risk of strokes particularly if they have high blood pressure.

Again we are killing our selves with a fork or spoon. What do you think, should this be preached from the pulpit on Sunday morning that this to is a sin of glutton? Too crave food to the point that it kills us is a sad thing. So, what can we do about all the information we already have at our disposal? Stop eating our selves too death.
