Ahamd Ezz The Drummer Who Robbed Egypt
Every regime needs cheerleaders and drummers who can get the people marching behind the leaders. The Egyptian Regime went out and got an actual drummer who did the regime bidding and in the process turned the regime into the most hated regime in the region. While most people resent Mubarak, all Egyptians hate Ahmad Ezz (Ahmad Eiz). The Egyptian tycoon that symbolizes everything wrong with the current regime "Business story here".
Ahmad Ezz, the big player in Egyptian politics and business was a small time drummer in some boy band in a night club. And out of nowhere he become the number one business guy in Egypt who controls a number of industries including the steal and tile, the two crucial material in any construction project. He is an engineer by training who went to school in Egypt, lived in Germany for a while, but then upon his return home he formed this band with Moody and Hussain Imam.
Ahmad Eid wasn't a secret guy, he loves the attention, after all he was drummer and you know how these guys love the attention. But he had hands in a lot of secret deals and questionable transactions. When the regime started to feel the heat last month, they arrested him and froze his bank accounts. That's a long way from being a drummer to being the fall guy. But he started his journey by getting a piece of r real estate where he started a factory. Then twenty years later he became the go to guy if you needed to grease the wheels. I think he is a polarizing figure as he was also hated by the army who did not like the fact Ezz was the sole player in the Egyptian steal industry.
Politics aside, I have to give Ahmad Ezz props for his outfit, his style he really went out on this one. Shoutout to whoever unearthed this vintage video that shows the man in action, allowing us to see a different side of Ahmad Ezz, the once too powerful and much feared man.
