Angham, A Fixture of Egyptian Music

Angham, the Egyptian singer that has engaged Arabs listeners in good Arabic music for more than two decades....the daughter of a musician who took her under her wings and gave her a top of the line musical training that served her well. Angham's vocals have stood the test of time. Early in her career, Angham she made her in name in the music business, but singing Tarab style songs.

But she has branched out into pretty much all types of songs, she did Arabic pop in the 80s and thus she was a pioneer in making music videos. She has also sang in the Gulf style songs and has left a great impression. She has also sang for Egypt and gave herself an iconic status. Angham has also covered lengthy poetic songs that few can handle. She is the undisputed most respected female voice in Egypt, some even dub her Egypt's Voice.

While her career has been on solid track since she started, her personal life is not so. Troubled past with her father and public feuds. A very unhappy marriage and a court divorce. But she keeps herself busy, last year along, she had two best selling albums in two different genera. She also has a gorgous fmaily of her own that she keeps an eye on.

While her two albums last year were big hits, I wrote about them here before, but this time, I would like to share a song of hers that channels a load of emotions that I have not seen in an Arabic songs in some time. This is a song that talks about, those who fail to notice that a certain someone loves them a lot yet those people keep chasing that love and fail to see what they have.

When the dust settled and Mubarak resigned, tens of songs came out to salute the protesters and welcome the change, Angham did not shy away from the conversation and has her song "January" to remembered the fallen, it's a very touching song and Angham delivers it in a unique way that should give the family members of the fallen in a small way some peace.
