Tahira Hamamich, the charismatic Moroccan contestant in the Star Academy (7th season) First song Aazrak as promised is a Moroccan dialect song, a very bold choice but a good one indeed, there are too many Lebanese and Egyptian pop songs. It's actually quite good. A Melodramatic, slow and sweet song with polished lyrics and a wonderful warm feel is written all over this song.
Here is what you need to know, popular Moroccan singer Hoda Saad, from Rotana label composed the music for this song...and that was her first experience in writing music. While Hoda has a tender voice and can deliver a wide range of songs and topics, for long she has talked about how she has feelings that she likes to expressed in music. With Tahira Hamamich, I think this was possible and I have to say, I am amused.Hoda also wrote the lyrics, so all around she oversaw this winner song that makes most recent songs an afterthought.
It's a winner combo, when you have deep meaningful lyrics written for a voice that can bring them to life and express them in such a vivid way. The music helps a lot as it does not get in the way or distract from the song, but instead it adds to it and makes the lyrics dance--even for a dark song. I welcome this collaboration and hope to see more of Hoda Saad music out there. Also do not forget that Hoda Saad is featured on the track and that was another delight. May more female musicians and singers should collaborate more often.
