Connoisseur.com has learnt that Akwa Ibom born movie star, Moses Armstrong was pursued from the Lagos Chapter of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) because of his questionable characters.
This hint was dropped by the current Chairman of Uyo chapter of the guild, Mr. Sony Ebong. Ebong in a brief but revealing chat with Connoisseur.com said Moses has been an unscrupulous element in the guild.
“If you doubt me, call Segun Arinze and confirm what I’m telling you. He is not a member of the guild. That is why he has gone to establish one association called Ibom Actors Forum where he is the International President, Secretary, and Treasurer.”
It could be recalled that Armstrong had last year relocated from Lagos to his home state after failing to warm his way back in to mainstream Nollywood.
It could be recalled that the fair-skinned Nollywood star, Moses Armstrong not too long ago relocated from Lagos, which is considered the hub of entertainment in Nigerian back to his homesoil, AkwaIbomState. CONNOISSEUR.com learnt that it was due to his inability to get regular roles in movies that warranted his decision to get back to the state. He dubs himself ‘Akwa Ibom’s most celebrated and finest actor’ but you can added ‘hotel accommodated’ to his titles because since he relocated back to the state, he has been living in hotels.
Why does he live in hotels? Below is a story that reveals why he lives in hotels courtesy www.nigeriafilms.com:
Self styled Akwa Ibom most popular and finest actor, Moses Armstrong may be living large in Uyo,the state capital, what with his visibility within government circles, publicity stunts and his closeness to people in the corridors of powers but those who are close to him say he is not a free man in the real sense of the word.
Gists making the rounds are that he moves about with this permanent fear of the unknown and he looks behind his shoulders anywhere he goes. We gather that he is haunted with the fear of being hunted by those he has offended especially in the entertainment world.
The close source who divulged this to us swears that it is the reason he lives and holds meetings in hotels so that no one would actually know where he resides.
Another source said that Armstrong who relocated from Lagos to his home state when he was not finding things easy in the acting world, was able to manipulate his way into the mainstream of the Akwa Ibom entertainment world, particularly the movie world and within a short time,he had hijacked the machinery of the actors in the state and went ahead to form his own group called Ibom Actors’ Forum.
He also maneuvered his way into the government and was in the forefront of those that campaigned for the second term of Governor Goodswill Akpabio. But his problems started when he began to shortchange locally based artistes and many of them are said to be very angry with him just as they have vowed to bring him down.
In an encounter with us sometime last year,Armstrong confirmed he now lives in hotels and showed us some threat messages bordering on his life and family.
Recently, Nollywood star, Ini Ikpe got hooked and tied the knot with heart rob, Joe Etukudo. The event which took place at Etinan, AkwaIbomState, hometown of the actress was well attended by top Nollywood stars including Ini Edo, Monalisa Chinda, Emem Isong, Ime Bishop Umoh, Moses Armstrong and others.

Rumours making the rounds has it that actor Moses Armstrong has been appointed Special Adviser on Entertainment to Governor Goodwill Akpabio. This has been the discussion of some stakeholders in the industry and some celebrity sites have published stories insinuating that Armstrong has been given the
appointment but CONNOISSEUR has scooped from a source close to Gov. Akpabio that the fair skinned actor has been pressing for the appointment but it has not yet been ratified by Gov.Akpabio.
It could be recalled that the self-styled Akwa Ibom’s finest and most celebrated (Hotel accommodated) actor organized an e-stars endorsement rally for Akpabio sometime last year and there was an imbroglio over the sharing of the N30m that was approved by Gov. Akpabio for the event. Since relocating from Lagos, Moses as been trying to make it big in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state capital and he is currently the chairman of Ibom Actors Forum.
